Looking forward to this. Hoping this signals Athens getting a premier BBQ place. Some good existing options but none that definitively rule the roost

Let's be honest.....no you didn't

This place looks really good. The cornhole and Jenga is a really nice touch. Makes it more of a place to hangout for a bit and drink as opposed to just coming and grabbing a bite and leaving. I like that.

Had some of their catering at creature comforts. The pulled pork was pretty good, I'm sure it would taste better in the actual restaurant. The sides (Mac and cheese and baked beans) were really great tho, and their sauces were tasty as well. They stay open till 2, too, which is awesome.

Of course, they open right when I move away from that area.

Tofu on the menu of a bbq shack in Georgia?... Baaaaa!!! Ha ha....holy shite.

And check out the athens cool guys in the comments section complaining about the lack of super cool McSnoot Ales on tap...

I swear. Athens gets more embarrassing every year.

Looks like a cool spot. Ive kinda curbed my trips to athens lately though. I was going almost every weekend for a bit. wasnt getting too terribly wasted or anything, but even after a handful of beers I felt like i was trying to escape with my life down there. maybe it was my paranoid perception but on weekends the cops seem like complete savages

"Saucehouse." Jesus. If the highlight of your restaurant is your sauces then your BBQ sucks.

I'm a little suspect, sauces need to marinate with the meat in order to taste the full flavor. You can't just slap the sauce on there afterwards and expect it to be great. I'm nitpicking though, as the place looks pretty darn cool.

I love my dogs as much as the next cat, but leave the motherfricker at the house when you go out to eat. Tia.

I had Saucehouse catering last year at one of the games. Very solid BBQ and it looks like the restaurant is gonna be cool.

I can't get over the tofu and the vegetarian stuff....

If you're a vegetarian, why in the shite would you go to a bbq joint?? That's about like an atheist going to Church on Sunday or something.

Does not compute.

Exactly.

Now, a party of 5 with a vegetarian in the group will come eat there, when they wouldn't have before. It's really smart in a town like Athens.

Don't associate with vegetarians and it isn't an issue. Never trust people that refuse to eat red meat. ....ever.

That's good advice. I'll add to it...... Don't ever let a white lady cut your hair. Old man barbers or black women only.

I let white women cut mine for the immediate sensation I have when boobs are in my ear. The haircut quality is irrelevant.

You have such a sunny outlook on everything. Your glass half full approach is really refreshing around here.
