It's possible I guess, but I haven't heard it mentioned. I believe it's more simply that schools like Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, TAMU, maybe USC, Penn State, have a significant advantage in NIL funds available. Most of it comes from very large donors. They can afford to pay the huge premium for players most in demand, and still have enough left over to keep their lower level players happy.
Georgia's getting some very good defensive players maybe at a bit of a discount. They want to play for Kirby, because he's considered one of the best defensive minds in the game. To get offensive players we're gonna have to pay market value and that means no Jeremiah Smith unless something changes.

It seems pretty obvious he would be recruiting guys that want to be at Georgia so they’d stay and be developed rather than leaving after year one for a bigger bag…not because he would rather have less talented players. You’d have to be literally retarded to think a guy would want less talent for no reason.

The issue is the talent will be spread out more and the teams with the most $$$ will have more talent. We are not in a great spot now unless we get a lot more $$$.

I can put like $350 down. If that doesn’t help, I’ll just continue loving them Dawgs when they’re 16-0 or 1-11.

That’s where our heads need to be.

We lost a playoff game with a backup QB starting. We can’t and won’t win every game.

NIL is going to change completely for 2025-2026 season if the settlement laws are approved by the court this summer. Donors won’t be able to just open their pocketbooks anymore and pay $10M to get a player. Kirby knows this, hence why he’s not trying to convince donors to write blank checks.

For those unfamiliar
Assuming final approval is granted, NCAA schools will be able to spend a maximum of $23.1 million each year, and that cap will increase on a yearly basis during the ten-year-long settlement agreement. The spending limit is based on a formula that gives NCAA athletes 22% of the money the average power conference school makes from media rights deals, ticket sales, and sponsorships.
A final hearing to approve the deal is scheduled for April 7, 2025, which is perhaps by coincidence the scheduled date for the NCAA men’s basketball championship game. If Judge Wilken deems the settlement fair, adequate, and reasonable, the court will grant final approval of the settlement, paving the way for schools within the NCAA’s purview to pay athletes directly.
NIL collectives, or groups of donors who compensate athletes with funding and endorsements, will also be able to provide NIL payments to players as long as the NCAA deems them to be legitimate forms of endorsement compensation, i.e., the athlete must provide a service in exchange for the payment, not just receive money for their athletic ability alone.

Guess I’m not looking at this year the way others are.
Lost 2 WR’s, injury to RB’s and OL, a QB that went and got the full on yips, WR’s decided they didn’t know how to catch…felt like Kirby held it together with zip ties and duct tape. Hardest schedule in football…beat Texas twice and won SEC and then had to go into a playoff game with a backup QB.
Losing the SEC last year hurt more than losing sugar bowl to me. Winning a natty this year was probably a bridge too far imo…one I tried to convince myself all year we could do hahah

Let's blow their minds and bring Art Briles in to run the O so we get offensive players who will play for a discount to play for a great offensive mind .....

I don’t think Kirby is that stubborn, as Dabo. I just think he is more Saban.
All these teams and coaches are desperate to win and now have a bunch of tools to throw at winning .
Parity and who wants to spend the most on players will drive the process forward until changes are made.
To be clear, we lost this game because an offensive lineman blew snd assignment, a guy not dressed almost tripped a ref, and a running back fumbled for the first time.
We made more mistakes. We lost. It wasn’t the system.

Yes, that’s why you are seeing top 25 players from HS reclassify. It’s not going to help us during this round of the portal. In any case, we need NIL $$ and $$$ to pay for these coordinators who are getting 7 figures. I just want to make sure the people on here are living up to our expectations of Donations excellence.

GA ranks in the top 3 for NIL funding, the money is there to buy what you want, no excuses
Posted on 1/4/25 at 10:11 am to Dawg4Life47
You don’t understand what is happening if you think we can buy who we want. Not our MO

The point is we can compete, not due to lack of funds.
You are a dolt if you think otherwise

Where do you get that? NIL money isn't public.
