I drove to the end of the dirt road, Trimble Bridge Road, where it dead-ended at old bridge ruins over the Apalachee river. I parked my Toyota Echo and donned my wife's camera in case there was anything cool to take a picture of.

My intent was to walk up and down the river and look for sign. That's what the internet said to do, look for sign. It's right where the old rifle range used to be on Redlands. I got chiggers something fierce but that isn't the story.

I was just about done with my hike, I had walked quite a ways south, walked back, then started walking north until the trail just vanished into swamp, so I started walking back.

I got almost all the way back and was standing under the bridge ruins when I hear an amazing ruckus in the river. It sounded like a herd of deer. Boy oh boy was I excited.

And then...

To be continued

Speaking of seed oils, I made some cornbread tonight. The recipe called for vegetable oil, but because of this thread I split the difference between butter and olive oil.

Best cornbread I've ever made from a box.

It makes me wonder why the box would tell me to use vegetable oil, specifically, when butter and olive oil make it better, and is healthier.

It has officially been 24 hours since anyone has made a post on this page, anywhere, on any topic.

Thoughts.

Dark and deserted as it was, the night was full of small noises, song and chatter and rustling, telling of the busy little population who were up and about, plying their trades and vocations through the night till sunshine should fall on them at last and send them off to their well-earned repose. The water’s own noises, too, were more apparent than by day, its gurglings and ‘cloops’ more unexpected and near at hand; and constantly they started at what seemed a sudden clear call from an actual articulate voice.

Most modern food is

Sounds like you have a pretty good handle on what you put in your mouth and that is the most important step.

Didn't want to start a thread so this one seemed sufficient. I'm struggling with whihc direction to orient my UGA flag on the house. Here's a diagram for reference:

Most of the neighborhood is out of the picture as shown. I'm at the end so there's really only a small handful of people taht would ever venture down towards our end. My flag is one-sided (I mean you can see two sides but one side looks normal and the other side is reversed). Currently I have the flag where it looks correct from the LEFT (in the picture) side. That's because when I am looking out the garage or standing in the home somehwere and see it it looks correct. But lately, and for what reason i don't know, whenever I arrive home from being out somewhere, as you come down the street approaching the house you can see the reverse side. So it looks backwards.

I am now going back and forth on whether I want the G to look normal to me from the garage or when i leave, or look normal to the rest of the world as people approach the house. It's one of the first things you'd see as you approach so it kinda irks me that it's backwards.

Ive known people that suffer with near debilitating OCD similiar to what you are describing here. Im not a medical professional, but I would strongly urge you not to let them push meds on you for this condition. Because the side effects from taking those dangerous brain drugs are severe. Ive seen them turn people into confused unpredictable fog zombies. Instead, I would strongly recomend finding a therapist that doesnt immediately throw big pharma prescriptions at every symptom, but instead seeks natural cures by trying to finf the underlying sources of the condition. I wish you good luck in your journey. Also, have you considered getting a 30 foot tall ground mounted vertical flag pole for your flag? This would increase exposure to more viewers, and it would be displayed correctly at some point from any vantage point possible when the wind direction is from left to right from each vantage point.

The answer is simple

#1 Flag needs to be twice the size of your house
#2 Roof needs old fashioned shipping "widows walk"
#3 Mount old fashioned TV antenna scaffolding
#4 Place WWII searchlights strategically on property
#5 Mount flag
#6 Enjoy a well earned beer or two

For the flagpole (less the unnecessary stuff)

For the lighting (maybe 4 of these babies)

When is the last time that you rewatched the movie “GoodFellas” from start to finish?

Holy shite.

Also, what would you have said if someone walked up to you in the popcorn line the first time you saw it and told you that they were a time traveler from the future and that there wouldn’t ever be anything like this allowed to be made again in your adulthood? That movies would die.

I haven't watched it in a while, but I've seen it a hundred times, one of my favorites.

I agree with King Missile about Martin Scorsese.

Watching the bats showing off & doing their aerobics at dusk again.Wondering why they fly over me so much, an observer. And then it hits me. It literally hits me. On the shoulder. This demon bird squirted a piss out and hit me on the shoulder with lazer innate diabolical accuracy

You do something to piss them off? Maybe they are like crows. Crows can remember people for years after only interacting with them once.
