Doesn't really come off angry so much as expending a lot of time and effort to try to convince others that Bennett is an elite QB. The entire time Bennett has been with UGA, Smart has continued to recruit and seek transfer QBs over him. One could ask why he didn't simply win the job in preseason? Wouldn't his superior skills be evident by that point?

If Bennett is truly an elite talent, the NFL draft will come calling. NFL evaluators don't have an axe to grind. They'll make an assessment of whether he can do it at the highest level and when the team around him isn't vastly superior to their opponents.

But i am curious why you come off so angry

If you didn't read it then just what exactly "came off angry". Did you find the font threatening? Did the number of words intimidate you. Just asking.

Maybe you should have stated, "Too long. Didn't read, but I will criticize it none-the-less.

If he says he isnt high strung while typing that, i can believe him. I dont mind taking a man for his word.

Kirby is a great coach. That is why he continues to recruit. I dont agree with your premise.

A healthy stet can do it in the national championship game. I dont doubt it. All we need is a point guard. Not michael jordan.

Of course, few make it. But the the argument being made seems to be that Bennett and Daniels have their differing strengths, but overall are equal...or maybe perhaps Bennett is even better (hence why he is currently starting).

To that, I say: If they are roughly equal as quarterbacks, then it follows that they will both be on par in the draft. Surely the NFL isn't going to take one in a high round and bypass the other or take him in the 7th if it's obvious that they're both so talented, right?

I still have only read your first post.

But we have the fewest pass attempts in all of the sec.
We have the 3rd fewest pass attempts in the first half.

You have a posturing statement about pass attempts.

After the first few games of the season, i would have argued that "we take what the defense is giving us". But that hasnt been the truth for the past month. Teams have been loading the box, and we are running into that box anyway.

119 college teams have more pass attempts than uga.
I would guess about 100 of them have more pass attempts in the first half of games.

You don't think that by this last spring or fall, Smart knew Bennett inside and out...after the guy's been in the system 5 years? C'mon now.... Why did he go after Daniels and Newman in the transfer portal? And why wasn't Bennett simply named the starter during the latter part of last season? Or heading into this fall?

I was very clear.
1)We have more than twice as many passes in the first half of games.
2) We typically have a 3 score lead by halftime.
3) We can still grind clock and first downs when the opposing defenses play the run

Not sure what point you are attempting to make here.

Let's raise our standards. (We have for every other position on the team). My vote is henceforth to end the era when UGA doesn't consistently seek NFL-caliber QBs in their recruiting.

I think we've already started to see that with the 2021 and 2022 commits. Let's be QBU, not just RBU. Bennett can be the last of the Todd Williams, the Joe T IIIs, the Cory Phillips, and so on...

Obviously not.

Did you state that the point about pass attempts was in response to others?

We limit the passing game with stetson.

We dont have a secret formula to throw fewer pass attempts than 119 other teams, win a national championship, and sign all of the 5 star WRs with this as our brand.

We are making lemonade.

A team can grind clock with the passing game. Monken has done that at previous stops (some of his leading receivers have been RBs and TEs).

We have Monken. We have great TEs and receiving RBs. But we choose to slam into the line of scrimmage.

We have 2 5 star QBs and a 4 star on the roster.. one 5 Star has been hurt most of his career here. One 4 star didn't pan out. One 5 Star isn’t ready. Thankfully, we also had Stetson on the roster. He stepped up and has played well for us. I too would love for us to have a 1st round draft pick at QB each year. I’m just not being a sour cûnt about it and don’t make myself miserable because we don’t now. It’s a bizarre stance to take in our current position but whatever…

Yup

You think we have the secret formula?
The best way to a national championship and recruiting the best wide receivers?
2021 forever?

Monken is playcalling his nuts off.
