I feel like we would’ve had news by now if they were postponing. They don’t want people traveling into the path of the storm unnecessarily from out of town just to move the game last minute. With this being such a high profile game they might have the support/resources to pull it off. I really don’t miss having to deal with stuff like this for work haha

It’s gonna be like 5-10 mph winds at 6 pm. Why is anyone even considering this gets moved at all? 50 mph winds won’t damage much of anything at all especially a football stadium. Game on

Great question

Because it's now a category 3 hurricane.

This is the problem with Atlanta. You have people like old dog that have grown up in the suburbs or city all their life and have no awareness for weather impacts.
One of the more embarrassing posts I have seen on this website.
Durr da wind not gonna hurt da stadium

All indications are that the rain and storm will have move through Tuscaloosa just after 12:00pm.
There are concerns.
Lightning
High wind and tornados.
Extreme damage to other parts of the state which question uses of resources for a football game.
Those concerns in consideration, you don't cancel the game until evidence of those issues surface.
Lightning strikes have a protocol to follow.
Tornado watch has a protocol.
Tornado warning has a protocol.
There is nothing wrong in this situation following protocols. They are there for a reason

that will hit the gulf coast then be gone from the area in question by lunch time.
We don't cancel games for bad weather that happens 6 hours away, 12 hours prior to the game starting.

Does this post have something to do with modular dwelling communities? I'm racking my brain trying to figure out what the post means, and that's all I can come up with.

There's a big difference between bad weather and a category 3 hurricane.
I hope you're right but no one can predict exactly where a hurricane ends up heading towards or how long it lasts.
Because of that I think it's better to be safe than sorry.

This is about as idiotic as Old Dawg's post.
What does growing up Atlanta have anything to do with his idiotic assertion about 50 mph winds?
I remember Opal back in mid 90's and the severe damage it did to metro Atlanta along with numerous other tornados, ice storms, etc and risks severe winds
do to metro Atlanta and North Ga.

They are predicting 30 sustained gusting to 50. Yes 50 sustained is a little sporty, and maybe worth postponing for an hour or two, but that’s also at noon, but that’s not what’s happening. Downed trees? Maybe. Tornadoes are a concern but too unpredictable to worry about 6 hours after the storm goes through. There’s nothing idiotic about saying this storm will not affect game time.

The expectation is that what hits Tuscaloosa will be a tropical depression/storm. Not a hurricane at that point.
The biggest concern is tornados. Those have a tendency of following in the sphere of major tropical storms and hurricanes.

It was just announced that President Trump will not be attending the football game.

Damn… there goes our chance. He’s carried a L at every home game he’s attended lol
