I am watching live hurricane coverage on the Fox Weather Channel. The hurricane is going to make landfall in about 1/2 hour and the winds are hitting 90+ mph.

It is amazing to be able to be in San Francisco and watch the hurricane hitting Alabama and Florida.

I think they mean when the eye makes landfall.

The Fox Weather Channel just said the hurricane is now classified as a category one hurricane with maximum winds of 85+ mph.

They are saying they are surprised the hurricane has diminished in strength so quickly.

It's 900k now. We got off easy in Cobb County. I was seeing forecast of 30 mph winds most of the day. There were some high winds this morning, but I just see some branches down.
