It is almost time for the big game, and I am sure hoping we pull it out. I have an 11 year old, and he doesn’t ever remember us winning an SEC title....Thanks CMR!

I think we have a chance, but I am not that optimistic. I know a lot of Auburn folks that are already talking about playing Clemson and Oklahoma in the playoffs. They don’t seemed concerned in the slightest. How is everyone feeling about the game?

I am not all that optimistic. I know they played a phenomenal lights out game a few weeks ago, but the way their D Line attacked us can’t be corrected in three weeks. Also, don’t see how we are going to run with 9 guys in the box. Hopefully, we call some screen plays or play action passes that develop very quickly to soften the defense up

Auburn probably has a 60% chance of winning. Underestimating ya due to what we showed at Jordan hare will bring that down to 50%.

This is an odd game.

On the one hand, I definitely have hope and believe this team is capable of winning. I think they have the skill and fire to pull this off if out minds are right and the ball bounces our way.

On the other hand, I think we've had a stellar season but aren't there yet with the line and as great as Fromm is - he's still a freshman.My brain is telling me we really don't have much of a chance so don't get your hopes up. But my brain also told me that AL would trounce AU - so maybe I'm stupid.

Help me get past this. I've run out of Kool Aide and really feel like a true underdawg coming into this game. I put our chances as 20%. I only share this because we are friends. What can I do to be a better fan?

I only know one AU fan and at my age punching him in the face has real world consequences ....so I'm struggling.

You are a good fan,I've seen your posts.I think if Dawg Fans aren't afraid of the fact we are Playing the team that trounced us,and Bama for the matter.But I have a different kind of feeling for this game,my hunches are usually spot on so far.I DO think just playing on their home turf alone helped them immensely in Our Game against them,and believe it or not Saban said the same about their game on AU's Turf. No way we make those same mistakes again.We have the talent to get the job done,and I really believe we will.GO DAWGS!!!

You're just being objective based on the fact that Auburn appears to be better in the trenches than Georgia on both sides of the ball. We can obviously win the game but it will take a smart and well executed game plan to pull it off. Our problem is Auburn just has to keep clicking on offense the way they have been and stuff our running game like they did before to win again.

I know how I personally feel about this game in my gut doesn't matter, but for some weird reason I have such a calm, confident feeling for this Saturday.

The week leading up to the first matchup I was a nervous as hell and felt like something bad was brewing.

FWIW this is the same confident feeling I had last year when everyone said the Dawgs couldn't beat a top 10 Auburn team in Kirby's first year.

May my gut forever be right

All we have to do is show up and play the same Georgia football we've been playing all year and at will be fine.

Our players were out there trying to do too much and made uncharacteristic mistakes. If we can just eliminate those, it will be a close game.

I rewatched every offensive play we had in that Auburn game.

Our Oline played the same as Auburns Oline, the difference was two things.

1) Play calling with Chubb up the middle 9 times on 1st and 10.

2) Stidham gets rid of the ball quicker under pressure.

At some point, with as many mistakes as we made...missed td pass, missed field goal and 4 personal foul penalties, the dam will break and you can't stop it.

That is what happened.

If you disagree, then why were we ahead after the first quarter and should have only been down by 7 at the half.

Also, it took until 4 min left in the half for Auburn to scored a TD.

Our Def did not play bad at all.

This game definitely has a different outcome IMO.

If we had eliminated those stupid penalties, which were anomalies and kick that field goal, that score should have been more like 26-24 Auburn on their home field.

My prediction this time: 27-21 UGA

I think people might be underestimating just how much JHS has meant to Auburn this year. They're 7-0 at home but 3-2 away. Here are their games this year away from home:

@Clemson- L, 6-14
@Mizz- W, 51-14
@LSU- L, 23-27
@Ark- W, 52-20
@atm- W, 42-27

They haven't played away from JH since November 4th. Obviously they aren't going to forget how to football but realistically they haven't experienced a non-home crowd in a damn month. Sure the split may only be 60/40 in our favor but I think it not being 95/5 in their favor like it is at home could be huge.

I'm just excited to be there. I really didn't expect CKS to get us here year two. Next year maybe, but this has been a pleasant surprise. I've enjoyed seeing UGA beat the teams that we should always beat in Kirbstomp fashion. Like many of you I had that bad feeling for the first time this entire season in game ten. Usually that's reserved for Game one.

To me, making the SECCG is the measure of whether we've had a successful season. I hope that eventually the ceiling moves and the measure of a successful season will be nothing less than the SEC Championship and a playoff berth. I really believe that is the trajectory we are on. Maybe we punch through this year finally.....

These two things don't exactly tell the story... We did have a bad game defensively. It wasn't *as* bad as it seemed from the final score IMO... but we had no answer for KJ last game, we were beat on the LOS on that side of the ball consistently... and we were uncharacteristically sloppy, resulting in bad penalties. The snowball score came as a result of some aggressive defensive calls used to try and get us back in the game while Gus/Chip dialed up perfect plays. They did still dial up drive after drive putting them in Georgia territory... going to have to change/adjust a lot, but it is doable...

That game was a perfect storm (which we've done to other people over the years as well) where a few bad breaks snowballed out of control.

yes they were physically much better. Yes they ran and passed all over us. Yes they handled our run game beautifully. But there were 3 quick possessions that basically led to it being a blowout.

-It was 7-9 midway through the 2nd quarter. We stopped AU again and forced htem to punt before they called the leaping penalty. We flat out gave AU the ball back, they scored a TD to make it 7-16.
-Poor clock management at the end of the 1st half led to a missed FG (not saying we "gave them" anythign here, just a miss). 10-16 is a lot different than 7-16.
-AU comes out start of 2nd half and we hold them yet again. Mecole fumbles at our 20 and AU scores again, it's now 7-23.
-We end up punting and AU gets it around midfield with our defnese honestly doing pretty well all things considered, then another PF penalty gives htem the ball at our 35. They score again and now we're totally done for

I'm not saying "take all those plays away and...." I'm just saying it's not like they just aboslutely pummeled us from start to finish the way we did to UT for instance. They had an explosion (similar to the start of our game against UF), partly due to great play by them and partly due to our errors (leaping, missed FG, PF penalties), that put the game out of reach.

No we are not all of a sudden going to get 50x better on the OL. No we are not all of a sudden going to have a DL full of all-pros. But we dont' need that. We jsut need to stay focused and not frick up. Not even sayign we're gonna win, but it's damn sure not gonna resemble the first matchup I know that. Especially with them not having the advantage of playing at home.

Take a look at my post on the SECr... we're pretty much in lock step on this one...

I just don't think it's fair to say that the defense didn't play badly because they didn't score a TD until a few minutes before half time... We were getting beat no matter how you slice it... we were just managing to limit the damage to FGs... which with Carlson's leg is a pretty big range unfortunately.

If football is about timing, and it is, our OLine not losing a halfstep from a silent snap count bc of the rabid fans in JH, priceless. Prediction--our O performs significantly better in "neutral" ATL, especially the run game. Go Dawgs!
