Both sides of the ball sucked in the 1st half except for the punch out at the goal line and the 88 yd drive in less than 2 minutes to get points on the board. Plenty of blame to go around in the 1st half but you will absolve everyone and go straight to Bobo. Absolutely amazing.

While you're at it post the stats from the Tennessee game where we scored 38 points in an extremely hostile environment but it wasn't enough to win.

Maybe you should look up Tennessee’s defensive stats, they are at the very bottom in the league in YPG and PPG. But people want to fire Schumann

I did not see anyone calling for his firing but he deserves a share of the criticism.

Well he may not be the guy as this thread is titled but he is the only coordinator on this staff that will get a head coaching opportunity in the near future. Can’t say that about the rest of the assistants

Schu won’t be getting any head coaching jobs if he can’t figure out how to stop an offense in the first half. It’s becoming more than a trend now. He can’t continue to dig a hole that the offense has to dig out of. Complimentary football requires both sides of the ball to do their job.

I just want to get off the field on 3rd down. Watching what A&M is doing in that phase of the game makes me miss the 2021-22 Dawgs something fierce.

Against P5 opponents, so far this is the worst 3rd down defense Kirby's had at Georgia by a wide margin. It's only a four game sample and skewed some by Alabama, but 49% allowed conversion rate is last in the SEC. Kirby's 2nd worst against P5 opponents (for an entire season) was 38% in 2021. Multiple reasons I guess, but there seems to be more blown coverage assignments by both linebackers and the secondary than in previous years. Also lots of penalty first downs (some of which were questionable calls). Georgia and Ole Miss have the highest rate of 1st downs allowed by penalty, 14% by Georgia and 15% for Ole Miss.

I think that Kirby needs to take on our pass rush as an off-season project the way he took on our run game as a project after last season. Ayahuasca shaman in the rainforest and the whole deal. Butt naked below the visor, sitting indian style until the sun comes up thinking about zone blitzes and pressure rates.

I think we are Footballs version of Academically Inbred on D... If Luke Fickle gets canned at Wisconsin, Kirby should put him on staff. He is a high level defense guy who could help us transition vs some of these crazy offenses. Be nice to have a true outside perspective. Should find us the same on Offense be it Freeze, Malslzun or similar, need to refill the brain trust with outside perspective.

Chase Linton and Isaiah Gibson should come in next year and provide a boost.
