5 sacks so far this season (tied for 113th) for 28 lost yards (122nd) in the country.

Mykel Williams – 2
Dumas-Johnson – 1
Brinson – 1
Stackhouse – 1

No sacks by an outside linebacker obviously

There 11 players on other teams that have more sack yardage than everybody on Georgia.

...It seems like we always talk about a lack of a pass rush around this time of year and then we end up cranking it up around the Florida game and everything turns out okay.

Let's hope history repeats itself I guess.

We really haven’t done much blitzing and most teams have been getting rid of the ball too fast to get to QB.

That said, our inside pressure is definitely not what it has been (to my eyes)

QBs are rushing their throws.

We are first in conference for INTs.
First in conference for passes defended.
2nd in conference for opposing QB completion percentage (which is especially impressive considering the massive lead we have in passing yards per attempt allowed).

What are we doing here?
Looking up stats and trying to infer something?
Or are we watching the games?

^^^ In all of your infinite wisdom please instruct us from your mom's basement why Georgia's outside linebackers don't have a sack yet this season.

We have 109 first downs and opposing teams have 65.

We are 19 of 22 in red zone.
We have 22 TD and opposing teams have 6

You really need me to spell it out for you?

4.8 yards per passing attempt.
The OLBs are too wide to hit the QB at 2 seconds. Any sack would have to be up the middle in a direct line to the QB.

We have sacks at the nose position, 3 tech, 4i, and ILB.
What part of the defense is that coming from?

I’m inclined to agree with part of what you’re saying, but when we didn’t blitz against SC, Rattler had time to read War and Peace back there. And that’s with an OL that surrendered 9 sacks to UNC.

I think Kirby explained it best. And he knows defense better than everyone on this board combined.

Georgia’s defense played up to its potential in the second half, limiting South Carolina to only 98 yards of total offense. Much of this success was due to pressure from an energized pass rush that finally started affecting the play of Spencer Rattler. Georgia finished the day with three sacks, including one by Mykel Williams, who seemed to be in South Carolina’s backfield all game long. Dumas-Johnson and Nazir Stackhouse each had a sack. Williams admitted that Georgia “woke up in the second half.” Rattler played much better than his stat line and was quick to throw the ball away rather than endure additional sacks. After the game, Smart praised Williams as the team’s “most dynamic rusher.” If another edge rusher can begin to generate pass rush pressure, then Georgia should exceed last year’s sack total.

I refuse to believe that meansonny ever played or coached football.

At this point I'm thinking he just watches Brooks Austin Youtube videos and eats Hot Pockets and looks for people to correct on message boards.

We have to pick and choose our blitzes.
We only send 5 against a tunnel screen and we give up a 3rd and long TD.

Are we asking for more of that? No
We can't do 1 thing all game and get away with it (stunts, simulated pressures, blitzes, or standard defense).

I'm sure everyone agrees with this. I don't intend to make a strawman out of it.
1) we are good enough to pressure QBs without forcing the blitz.
2) we are good enough at all levels of the defense to simulate pressures (especially when Bullard gets back)
3) our offense is good enough to stress an opposing offense both with our time of possessions and points.

People wanting sacks are wanting sacks.
What about wanting havoc plays?
What about wanting punts?
What about winning field position?
Why are we hung up on OLB sacks when we are not having trouble affecting the QB?

I haven't coached.
And I only played in a wishbone offense and on defense against other veer and option offenses.

I have family who coached.
I have coworkers who coached.
I've had coworkers who played at UGA (as many of us have).

All of that says that my resume' is crap.
If you are trying to attack my resume, it tells me that you know my point is correct.
