Stackley said Park was torn between UGA and Alabama but decided on the Bulldogs today and called Mark Richt at 4:30

“Bama never wanted him, they wanted Cornwell.” - Random Bammer
Those in the know (Mansel and Adams) have said Bama preferred Park over Cornwell. Huge pickup

I noticed that Cornwell immediately called Tuscaloosa to commit.

Yea, not in the top 10 two years in a row.

But hey, this is good news; finally another pro-size QB for our pro-style offense.

If we land Gaillard and Carter, we'll be in the top 10 easy. If we pick up Shaw on top of that, we're talking potential top 5.

Georgia continued its flurry of recruiting activity on Friday, and this time at the most visible position.
Quarterback Jacob Park of Goose Creek, S.C., committed to Georgia on Friday, per multiple reports. Park, a consensus four-star prospect, chose Georgia over Alabama.
"He had narrowed it down pretty dead even between Georgia and Alabama but there were just a few things about Georgia he liked better," Stratford High School head coach Ray Stackley told PalmettoSports.com. "He struggled with the decision and talked to both schools several times since Monday."
Georgia and Alabama ended up getting quarterbacks within minutes of each other on Friday: A short time after Park's announcement, Alabama got a commitment from quarterback David Cornwell of Norman, Okla.
Park, who is listed at 6-foot-3 and 202 pounds, passed for more than 2,700 yards last season, and 25 touchdowns. He is rated as the eight-best pro-style quarterback for the 2014 class by 247Sports, and the No. 139 overall prospect.
This is Georgia's fifth commitment in the past week, and the 10th overall.
Georgia has typically taken one quarterback per signing class. Park is now scheduled to join a depth chart that will lose Aaron Murray, but still have Hutson Mason (the projected starter in 2014), Christian LeMay, Faton Bauta and Brice Ramsey, as well as walk-on Parker Welch.

Parks stats and abilities are similiar to if not better than Cornwell's. How is Cornwell rated so much higher?

Listen to him talk. That's why he's ranked lower, even though his mobility makes him arguably better than Cornwall.

Cornwall also has the "QB hair" that is going to make him a God at Bama (whereas Park looks more like he's in the mold of Joe Cox or Connor Shaw with his near-buzzed head

I noticed that as well. I don't trust douchebags, and he looks like one.

He reminds me of the rapey-looking dude from Backstreet Boys

There's another cornball brother I can recall who did just fine at the collegiate level.....Ryan Mallet.
