Considering all the drops and the poor OL play, Kirby might thinking that it's more about the Jimmy & the Joes than the Xs and the Os but if we have the same issues with a new set of players then he will have to take a hard look at his offensive coaching staff.

The problem is that the jimmies and the joes were evaluated by the offensive staff in question. At a minimum, there would need to be some reevaluation on that front.

Good grief. Go tell Kirby. I'm sure he would act on your valuable insight.

I'm not a Bobo hater and he certainily has his share of faults, which were especially evident this past year, but we can win big with him as OC. We aren't going to be able to win big with continuing to employ searels. There's a reason he's never at one place longer than a couple years. He absolutely sucks.

Not to be mean, but when in his entire career has kirby ever thought differently? His whole carrer has been predicated on having better jimmys and joes

It doesn't help that 1 of our starting WRs was booted in the presason and another starter that was reliable and productive was booted halfway through the season.

2 of our leading RBs were lost for the yera practically before the season began and our #1 RB battled injuries half the year.

It's completley and totally obvoius that we don't have the talent we had in 21/22, that's sipmly a fact. But I also don't think that we've majorly whiffed either like some may want to claim.

OL is a major concern though. We're not looking very good there from an eval and talent persepctive.

I agree with this. This isn't the NFL, where the front office selects the players and the coaches do the best they can with the players that the front office selected.

In college football, the coaches are the de facto front office and select the players.

As long as Searels is coaching Oline and Bobo is his boss, we are fricked next season.

Well Bobo is coming back and Searles is more than likely coming back(probably on a short leash) so prepare thy anus.

This is fair.

I would argue that this is an evaluation problem given the rate we see off the field issues with transfers.

It’s not like Rara or Young were so productive that they appear likely to drastically change things for us.

UGA still has a lot of talent, but may never again field a team as talented and experienced as 2021 and 2022. Recruiting and extensive player development are history. You buy who you can and lose a significant percentage of those after every season. So we go to war with the mercenaries we can afford and train them up on short notice, like everyone else. Still won the SEC and had a shot at a NC until Beck got hurt. Every season's a crapshoot.

Saying our coaches "select" their players is kind of like saying people select their spouse. It's true, up to a point. But you can't select a spouse who prefers a higher standard of living than you can offer, or who rejects the way you look or act or talk or where you live, etc. And when dissatisfaction with the relationship emerges, as it frequently does, then your spouse is free to look for greener pastures.

So, all this fan entitlement and complaining is pointless. In the new era, acquiring top football talent is like acquiring and keeping a harem of movie star trophy wives. Some may just fall in love with you, but most have other considerations. The fans get what they can afford to pay for.

There was a figure the other day that like 21 of 28 players from the 2021 championship team was in the NFL playoffs or something crazy.

Check last page of the Beck transfer thread.

Rusty says he hasn't heard anything about but he is boys with Bobo so could be running cover to help not hurt recruiting visits.

Or until after the NCG.

That's common courtesy.
