When a player is disqualified from the game due to a flagrant personal foul (Rule 2-10-3), or flagrant unsportsmanlike conduct, NCAA shall where possible initiate a video review for possible additional sanctions before the next scheduled game.
This means NCAA can suspend him for extra games, but the carryover rule is only for targeting.
Expect him to play next week.

Awesome, that one was on the officials, you got to take into account tech player would not let him go and punched him in the neck.

Go diddle yourself. Dude is out.
Hey, sit a half for team rules, then swing twice on a dude that will be in the books next weekend while we are playing for the playoff.
Kirby won’t tolerate that shite.

Kirby needs to win the game next week. If Pickens is allowed to play under the rules, he will play.

He probably should

He will play unless Kirby makes the boneheaded decision to keep him out.

Dick L posted this in game thread
During the second half, players shall not participate in a fight.
PENALTY—15 yards. For dead-ball fouls, 15 yards from the succeeding spot. Automatic first down for Team B fouls if not in conflict with other rules. Disqualification for the remainder of the game and the first half of the next game [S7, S27 or S38, and S47].

From dawgnation
Editor’s note: There’s some confusion about Pickens’ status for next week, because an unsportsmanlike penalty is different than targeting. He may not miss time. Check back with DawgNation for updates.
UGA freshman sensation George Pickens will miss the first half of the SEC Championship game after being ejected from Saturday’s game, per ESPN’s broadcast crew.
Pickens was thrown out of the Georgia Tech game after throwing punches to the helmet of defensive back Tre Swilling.
ABC-TV/ESPN reported that Pickens told UGA coach Kirby Smart afterwards on the sidelines that “(Swilling) punched me first in the throat.”
Replays did indicate that Swilling did initiate the punching part of the altercation with a pair of jabs at Pickens’ neck. But Pickens caught the attention of the referees after he threw several forearm punches at Swilling’s helmet.
Bottom line: Depending on the clarification of the penalty, Pickens may have to sit out the first half of next weekend’s SEC Championship.
