Jefferson.....you mean to tell me that the modern PC little idiots.....the same idiots mind you that spend all of their time surrounded by people who are just like them.....have failed to recognize this simple point about human nature?
Do you mean to tell me that people today, as they have for thousands of years, are somewhat tribal in nature and choose to associate with others who are similar to themselves...either in age , race, culture or social class? And so you also insinuate that these different groups may disparage each other from time to time by names, slurs, etc?
Oh my God...I don't believe it...

Seriously, let's get something straight. Number one, I'm a worship Pastor or a MULTI-cultural church, and I am VERY intentional about integrating my friendships; white, Hispanic, Black, Asian, all of the above. And it's not because I have to, but be because I enjoy learning about the contrasts and differences in all races. Do I have friends and acquaintances that stay in the ghetto? Yes, I do, and that has everything to do with me being able to minister to the broken lives of those people; something that you would and could never do. I'm not boasting my efforts, but if you're gonna go that far let me hit you with some facts. My dad was in prison all my life, my mom was a drug addict, (insert drug baby joke here.. smh), granddad an alcoholic, and I DID NOT become a statistic. I work a full time job, happily married, involved in the community, and I have 2 beautiful daughters, and I'm probably a better father than you are or ever will be. But unlike you, you more than likely have NO idea what it's like to grow up in the ghetto. Indeed I count my blessings, because without God I wouldn't be here. I guarantee you I'm a pretty great guy to be around more so than yourself, and it has nothing to do with color. I've read enough of your posts to get a glimpse of how much character you have. Bro, you can quit with all the side jabs and stereotypical drivel. Funny how you were probably raised in a better environment with more resources and opportunity, and a hood kid still rises above to be better and live better than an idiot like you. A person's chances of getting robbed or shot hanging out or around me are as much as yours or less. Hopefully the grace of God will help you see just how crazy and nonsensical your perspectives are. Onward....

Well said man. My favorite Supreme Court Justice was Brennan because he recognized the fact he was fallable and could change his mind when presented with additional information and having time to reflect. Those that are set in their ways are static and by definition cannot grow. While I am an atheist and think it is just as likely that Cthulhu and his tentacles are just as likely to grab me in death as Jesus and his love I realize that I don't know shite. To some you are always gonna be a **** and unfortunately that ain't gonna change. Paula Deen is cool with me even though Lady and son's is not even as good as golden corral. Talk is cheap. Even on a message board.

This is getting real stupid. So what she said n*****, how many black people says that? So what now only black people can say that word? You can say it without being racists, black ppl say it all the time and not get offended.
Another thing, ppl on facebook posted a link, blacklegalproblems, or something like that. How wrong would it be if white people had an all white college, or started whitelegalproblems.com or have some white guy (jesse jackson equivalent) get all politically correct for when black people (or any other race) says "white" instead of "european american". This shite is just getting stupid. If you dont want people to say ****, then quit fricking saying it yourself.

So, you're a pastor in a Christian church.............but you refuse to Forgive a woman for a word she said 30 years ago?? Even after she's apologized profusely?? ANd not only that... but you're actually encouraging the destruction of here livelihood......and hope that she loses everything she's worked for?
Wow.
I mean, Jesus was nailed to a fricking cross breathing his last breaths........and he was able to forgive the soldiers (aka hired government stooges) that nailed him there and were sitting on the ground below him rolling dice to gamble for who got his clothes when he was dead.
Sorry, but something doesn't add up to me here, "Pastor".

Also, pretty sure the Bible says something about "thou shalt not steal." So, check into that too.
Thanks.

I'm the first to say no one should use the n-word, whether black, white or in any song. There's been many "leaders" who have come out and voiced their disdain for the use of the word and protested against various record labels, although efforts have been futile so far. It's just become so deeply ingrained into popular culture that it will be very difficult to get rid of completely. Personally, I despise most elements of hip hop culture and hope there is a major shift in the mentality soon.
There's no such thing as black only colleges. There ARE HBCUs, which were created out of necessity since Universities such as ours were resistant to integration well into the 1960s, but it's not like white people or any other racial group aren't allowed to attend. A couple years back there was a white valedictorian of Morehouse, and white students can even apply for minority status at these Universities, though I'm not too well versed on specific benefits one would gain. There's plenty faculty of white and other racial backgrounds at these institutions. Has the label of HBCU outlived its mantra and usefulness? Possibly, but it's not as if they're exclusive.
I have no idea what "blacklegalproblems" is, but it sounds like some stupid Facebook group or Twitter page.
Anyway as another posted stated, I grew up in a household where I was not allowed to use the n word or any other variation of the word. In addition, I was lectured in the same manner to never say any slurs period. The majority of my friends and friends of my family have been white and traditionally southern in culture. Often times, they'd refer to themselves as rednecks, and each time my father or mother would ask them to please not use that word, and they would oblige.
I'm definitely not perfect. Oddly enough, the only times I've ever thought any racial slur has been the n word with the er about my own racial group. I can't say I've ever vocalized or written any disparaging remarks about someone based on their race, religion or country of origin though.

She's forgiven, I was one of the black people who advocated for her in regards to the apology, until I read about the slave wedding, and so on. I still forgive her Jeff, but as we all know, when were we young and did things wrong, our parents forgave us for things, but consequences still came. You have to understand that it's wrong point blank. I would never use a racial epithet to describe anyone from any race. I believe NO ONE should say the word "n****" because of the connotation it carries with it's history. I also believe NO ONE should be called a "cracker", "wetback", and so on and so forth. And you missed me about the "thou shalt not steal" part....

This coming from a man who blamed white privilege on his failed work promotion.
Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.2 We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things. 3 Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God?
