I once heard a guy describe Columbia as smelling like fried butter and disappointment.

Downtown where? Columbia? I feel like that would be a long, shitty walk......why would anyone do it?

There’s not much around the stadium as far as food and bars go, if you’re looking to park and then walk. River Rat and Conquest Brewing are close by, J’s Corner just opened across the way from the fairgrounds. Peeble’s Wing Shack is right across Assembly on Rosewood, further up the hill is Cock n’ Bull (GREAT pub food). Bernie’s chicken is down Bluff Rd not far from the Stadium. The Loose Cockaboose is close by, but I hate that goddamn place. Honestly, call the Palmetto Pig today and place an order, pick it up tomorrow when they open at 11 on your way into town, and just eat/drink at your tailgate spot. My wife and I have up our spot a couple of years back because we never use it anymore, otherwise I’d tell you to come join us. We used to have a fun group until everyone had kids and things slowly began to fall off.

Columbia as a whole is an utter POS town. But that stadium is basically the crown jewel of sh1ttiness.

Columbia honestly isn’t a bad place to live, aside from the heat. I prefer it to Metro-Atlanta, where I grew up. Traffic is usually always light in town, there are some REALLY good restaurants with more moving in, the night life is decent, and you get some pretty good musical acts that come through. It has it’s problems, too, like our corrupt city government and bad homeless problem on Main St, but it’s not nearly as crowded as the Atlanta area has become. It is growing, though. Growing a lot, actually. My wife and I have begun to talk about escape plans...

Anyone going to the game and have an exta ticket for sale? Taking the brother-in-law for his first UGA game (heading down from Charlotte). Thanks!

Found WG's spot, but no one was there. And it looks sketchy as hell.

I’m in Port Lions fishing for giant flounder today. Should have cell service to watch on my phone this AM.
