Bring everything you need to eat and drink...nothing around that stadium.

It’s amazing how so many folks are fortunate to have never found cause to spend much time in Columbia, SC. For the uninitiated it’s unthinkable that a state capital is as devoid of any redeeming quality as Columbia is. It being South Carolina it shouldnt come as a surprise.

Is it really that bad? Seems like an opportunity for a brewery to take over one of those abandoned warehouses I hear so much about.

Least favorite SEC town I've been to. And I've been to Gainesville.

It has potential. The problem is that the entire state is more interested in re-living the glory days of the 1950s and earlier south and it really is prevalent in Columbia. Augusta is very similar......folks in both places just ain’t willing to live in today. Even Charleston and Myrtle Beach are just ate up with backward thinking. Spend more than just a little time in South Carolina and you’ll hear some of the most fricked up shite imaginable come out of people. Not even Mississippi is as fricked up.

Yeah, for 6 or 7 days out of the year, great idea. Where do your customers come from the other 358 days of the year?

This. Horrible spot for a stadium honestly. The tailgating scene isn’t great but it’s not awful either. Take a bath in sunscreen and bring water. If you’re drinking, be prepared to have beer coming out of your pores. It’s hot and nasty

No food. No bars. You’re on your own. Don’t walk to downtown when the sun goes down.

Charleston is amazing. Dirty myrtle is pure unadulterated white trash.

I feel like a few businessmen with money and a knack for food could make it better. Kind of like how Knoxville is slowly becoming less shitty.

A very tight small segment of Charleston is very nice....but north of broad there’s not a lot of difference between it and Myrtle Beach.

I lived in Summerville for little over a year once. Awful place....and on top of the South Carolinians you got the retired Yankees who can’t afford south Florida and are pissed about it.

Good to know, thanks. I’ll load up on snacks and beer when I get to Aiken. I’ll have to snag some sunscreen as well

I tailgated with fellow SCAR fans against Vandy, the week after UGA made Spurrier quit. We tailgated in a building with individual rooms off George Rogers Blvd. Think a storage facility. Apparently that’s where the money tailgated but it was booooring as hell. All they talked about was how rude UGA fans were and how much they hate us. Great hospitality, right?

Knoxville has the Vol Navy, but not much beyond that. My wife is a UT grad so we’ve been to a few non-UGA/UT games. There is nowhere to tailgate and the walk from a parking garage is brutal, steep hills and big drop offs. FTR, my wife always brags about tailgating in Athens.

There really isnt jack shite around the stadium, but you could prob slaughter some cattle and make some burgers as the stockyard/agriculture stuff is right next to the stadium.

Parking is also a pain in the arse there, but that should go without saying.

Now there are a decent amount of good restaurants about 5-10 mins from there, but like another poster said, being Columbia - its weird that there isnt much at all to do there.
