Taking the girlfriend along the way to El Paso stopping in New Orleans any good food recommendations?

On bourbon I would eat at Galatoire's. Garden District would be Commanders Palace.

Antoine's off bourbon sometimes has $20 lunch and the food is very good.

Mother's on the edge of the quarter is also good.

We enjoyed The Court of Two Sisters (probably a really good spot for the girlfriend, little courtyard, nice atmosphere). And the classic spot is the Acme Oyster House.

There is an Acme in Covington, la, not far off I-12 and a Midendorfs in Slidell now, if you wanted to skip New Orleans on I-12.

Also Madisonville, la, is a picturesque Bayou town with some great seafood places like Morton's. That city feels more la than NO to me. It is not far off i-12 either.

Bourbon street is the last place you want to eat in New Orleans. Desire oyster house is legit, but that’s about it.

I am guessing he maybe has a hotel off bourbon. Though I would skip the expense and stay off 12 if it was me. Still have cool places to go.

Oceana Grill is great, but if you post that on the travel board or food board here, the coonasses will call you bad names and make fun of you.

Hit Frenchman. Eat there and listen to some good music.

Go to Coop’s Place on Decatur street, which is right next to Bourbon. Must go. Jacques-Imo’s in Uptown is also fantastic.
