That is always a possibility. I know he was born in Griffin. I believe the family, at one time moved to Atlanta. As an adult he had a dentist office in griffin again, but he could have lived around Adel, too. Never heard that, but I guess it is possible.

James Brown,

Actually met him once. I'm sure people have varying stories about him, as people have about most celebrities....but he was a 24 Carat jerk when I met him. Not to me, but a buddy of mine. Threatened to get him fired for calling him James Brown instead of Mr. Brown. Thing is...my friend was trying to help him and do him a favor.

Also, contrary to the movie Tombstone, there is no evidence to suggest that he and Johnny Ringold ever met

One of Holliday's earliest shootings happened in the Withlacoochee river in 1873. A young Holliday together with friends went to their favorite bathing place, but discovered it occupied by a group of African-American youths. Holliday and his companions told them to leave, but they were defiant. Enraged, Holliday left and returned carrying either a shotgun or a pistol and started firing. Some of the African-Americans started firing at him as well. Accounts of this event varied as violence against blacks were largely undocumented at that time. Holliday's family denied him ever killing anyone that day, but two accounts said that Holliday killed one to two of the group.[

Some books have the name as John Ringgold. Apparently, Wikipedia agrees that it was Ringo.

Officially, Royston claims him. The family land was apparently in an area known as the Narrows in the late part of the 19th century. My older son is named after Ty Cobb.

Not from Georgia, but another mean one was John Wesley Hardin. Seems he went to a hotel. The guy in the next room was snoring loudly. hardin knocked on the wall several times and when the snoring continued shot through the wall hitting the guy and killing him. I try to remind my wife of this story from time to time....

They did seem to move around a bit. (The family)
Had not heard they were in Valdosta, though.

One of the finest acting jobs in movie history, right there. The rest of the cast should have given their money to him for carrying that movie.
