This ineptness is all over the country, but it's concentrated in specific states. We entered this with a 6 week head start then squandered it with a slow response combined with pie-in-the-sky dishonesty and simple ignorance. We just cracked 1,000 deaths in a day and we have the most cases in the world and none of that is a surprise.

How does leadership go from this is going to go away magically to 200,000 deaths is a good job? Further, how does that happen without people being angry as hell?

Even with the amazing work many people are doing, this has been an abject failure of leadership. We have the most cases and will have the most deaths in the world outside the most underdeveloped and under-resourced nations. The worst job in the world of managing this disease has been done in the United freaking States. No excuse for that.

And everyone who hates Trump agrees with you and those that like Trump won’t . Let it go.

You have already made up your mind, no matter what the outcome is.

You are the definition of an NPC.

Lol. I would if I didn't get inspiration to rant daily.

But there's one thing that's not an opinion. If we have weeks to prepare - same as most countries in the world, and even with a significant resource advantage and orders of magnitude more than most spent on heath care we still end up with by far the most cases and deaths in the world it's an objectively piss poor job done. That's not my feeling; it's math.

My opinion has formed based on the results.

Question: Has yours?

At this point even NPCs have more variance than most apologists or those who are still wearing the rose-colored glasses.

Wrong.

Do per capita and then exempt data you don't trust (China, Iran, Mexico etc) and you'll see the math says you are full of shite.

You are like an Indian (dot not feather) project manager that screams and shouts and escalates when I keep a project in engineering for an extra week before implementation, because you think there's now a week delay, when in fact I just moved your go-live up a month because the extra week in engineering solved road-blocks before they happened. You are that Indian. You look at one single column on your spreadsheet, without looking at the whole workbook. You have a simple mind. Lol?

He's using "math" as his source, and when people argue back with algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and statistics, he calls it "rose colored glasses" and falls back on 4th grade math. He is a simple person.

But I will still vote for him again if he's running against a socialist.

Even if it means your elderly friends and family having a higher chance of not living?

Also, the whole "socialist" canard is so tired. Do you dislike our current military apparatus? It's about as socialist as it comes - arguably communist. I suspect you don't like the type of people who are most likely to seek government assistance, rather than the idea of government assistance itself. The cruelty that people like you inflict on the workers of this country - whom you believe to be as less powerful and therefore more worthy of condemnation - has always been baffling to me.

If you want to debate socialism with me, start a new thread, I'd be happy to join in.

There are plenty of factors I take into account. The US has more people, but we're also much larger with a more dispersed population which is a big advantage over European countries when it comes to slowing the spread of disease. We also have much more in the way of resources.

Facts are stubborn things. An honest and wholistic look leads to an inescapable verdict, which is why I simply admit the obvious: this response has been botched.

So what's the age at which you would prefer to see people die?

People get old. They die. As they get older, shite stops working. When all the shite stops working, people die. That's all the health classes you skipped in a nutshell. You're welcome.

Agreed! I also assume it means he's going to decline Social Security and Medicare, as well as a myriad of other things. The funny thing is he supports socialism for the rich.

Was the response Botched or was it the intentional act of a narcissistic sociopath? I think the latter.

I think a little of both, Trump downplayed for far too long. If he had acted responsibly as soon as the first case hit the states we would be in the situation South Korea is in. Instead we're getting our arse kicked by this thing because Trump waited too long and is too much of a narcissist to admit he fricked up. His followers aren't making things all that easier either
