So please, sir. Tell me how little contact we have while testing patients.

Just fda approved.
I dont know the turn time that you will see it. As far as I heard, it is going to drive through testing first.

I'd guess that you have it in under 2 weeks.

You do agree that the nurse testing requires a change to the PPE with each patient?

A whole bunch of ppe is rolling out. Just got project to have 50,000 sq ft of unused distribution center space network-ready in 72 hours. Supposedly for ppe. The ceo of the company was one of the guys sitting next to Trump on the Sunday conference. So my next 48 hrs will be fun. Luckily my vendors are all gung-ho on this.

One of these days I'm going to need someone that's a lot smarter than me to explain how more testing really affects anything.

People who know that they are contagious usually try not to infect friends and family members. Testing provides early identification of hotspots needing resources. When people know that a lot of deadly virus is active where they live they tend to be careful.

It feels like supply shortages are going to be a thing of the past in the very near future.

In the early going, the lack of testing didn't hurt as badly as many seem to think because it did limit the usage of those PPEs before the production jumped to current levels.

SK isn't China, though. They were in the exact same place as the US with a representative democracy, plenty of international travel, and a no stockpile of working tests at the beginning. First disclosed case was on Jan 20 for both countries but by the first week of February they had accepted the WHO test, convened their top 20 relevant manufacturers , and given them a directive to crank out tests. That's how they contained this and how we didn't.

I appreciate your perspective but the situation in SK isn't comparable to the U.S. and I'm sure you know it. SK is a very small nation with a small population compared to the United States. SK also has a very homogeneous population and as others have mentioned in other posts their government has much stricter control over their populous compared to the U.S. SK is also much closer to the source of most of the necessary medical equipment manufactured in China.

I would also add that the SK president wasn't being impeached during critical months after China publicly announced the outbreak. And their news media hasn't been vehemently critical of every aspect of their governments handling of the crisis.

Nancy Pelosi publicly accused President Trump of being responsible for the deaths of Coronavirus victims in the U.S. I don't recall any member of the SK governing body calling out their President, Moon Jae-in, in such a hateful manner. I find it ironic that Pelosi and her ilk have the nerve to make such statements apparently oblivious to the fact that it is her baseless distractions that likely though indirectly hindered the U.S. preparedness for the Coronavirus.

I also don't remember President Obama being impeached during his administration or accused of being responsible fo the death of H1V1 victims even though his response to that pandemic was signficantly slower than response of the Trump admin to the Coronavirus pandemic.
No there's not a left wing media conspiracy; at this point it is open warfare against a legally elected President because they still absolutely can't except that their favored candidate lost the election.

Yes. Obviously. I was only disagreeing with the no contact with patients part.

Obviously. Do you think people without symptoms get tested? None of the people I know without symptoms have tried to get tested. All of those people could have had it by now. It could have come and gone without anyone knowing. If you test me now, and I'm negative, that doesn't mean I wasn't exposed and over it already or that I won't be exposed and infected 30 minutes from now. That test would then be insignificant and whatever statistic you're trying to use to prove your point withhold be wrong.

Perhaps because they know even very sick people aren’t getting tested, so why waste time?

Would also really help us understand the rate of asymptotic positives. As of now, it really just a guess.

Do hospitals actually treat masks, gowns, and gloves as PPE and depreciate them? Do you know what PPE means? Most likely they are just expensed on the income statement as inventory cost since they are used by the doctors to generate revenue. You dont depreciate one use items and they aren't PPE.

Do you think we were shipping hospital beds and infrastructure to china??

Yes. Do you?

I'm not sure why I'm getting an accounting question. We were short supply for PPE until production ramped up and hoarding has been suspended.

No. Again, I'm not sure why I'm getting this question directed at me. You're going to have to help me out to understand where these questions are coming from. I'd be happy to explain anything that confuses you.

Wait a minute...that's another report of people mass buying PPE not to be used by our healthcare system. I was told that wasn't an issue here in this thread.

Not sure but every one of these frickers need to be "repatriated" ASAP.

My wife works at the hospital here in Warner Robins. There's 27 confirmed cases for Houston County. She just told me they have 3 of 5 floors filled with coronavirus patients. That's way more than 27 and surrounding county confirmed cases. WTF is up with that??

Hospitals going to LEAN inventory management is something that should not be blamed on anyone other than their CEO/CFOs.
