My point was simple:
quote:yup!!!!!
we don't have final numbers
quote:What data??? The cruise ship? The fact that more people in American died today than have sniffed Corona total?
but the data suggests
quote:back to your point, the data is faulty...but even then, WHAT precautions?? You mean washing your hands and staying home when you are sick like any virus?
but the data suggests precautions are necessary
quote:
and recommended precautions have been announced
Oh, you mean by the government that is actively looking to control more of our lives and people follow like sheep??
quote:
Let's be prudent to take those precautions.
Wash your hands and stay in your bed all day by yourself, you wont get it
quote:
Not for nothing: I've read a lot from you on this subject over the past couple of weeks. At least you're consistent with putting in a lot of effort into adding absolutely nothing of value - nothing at all. Spare yourself the carpal tunnel; nobody cares what you think.
So the government hasn't shown their ability to take over American lives and shut down private businesses? People aren't following the shepherd blindly? This hasn't killed only 7,100 people worldwide in 4 months? Good luck with you and yours...

The transmission rate varies dependent on human behavior.
The transmission rate also varies by the human. You conveniently left out that the majority of americans are not at risk of symptoms from the virus.

God you people are delusional. It's about trying to contain this to the best we can. Sure you and I might be ok but a lot of other people might not be. And the fact that we don't have a vaccine and that it can jump from person to person well before any symptoms are showing is a major problem.
But yeah sure the CDC, Italy, France, Germany, Japan and the W.H.O are all working together

God, you people are sheep. See, I can do it too. We have went through this many times and go through it each year with the seasonal flu.

Sounds like driving in a car, breast cancer, smoking, walking down the street, drugs, and most any other virus....

you mean like H1N1? That we got through with a vaccine that took 9 months as well? Or how about the seasonal flu vaccine is about 50% effective...you cool with that with a year in which 60,000 US citizens died from it??
quote:
delusional.
You said it. Let's reduce our economy 30-50% because of this one....I hope you lose your job, can't afford anything moving forward, get skinny as shite from malnutrition, have to live on the streets for the rest of your life, wife marries an Alpha male that didn't get Coronavirus...... but, I hope you don't get COVID-19 and die. Best of luck. Cheers!

The fact that you even tried to compare the two shows how poor your grasp on the situation is. Other countries aren't shutting down for no reason. The CDC isn't recommending no large gatherings for 8 weeks for no reason. Trump and his taskforce are going to shut down shite for no reason.

Real classy man also who uses the term alpha Male? What are you 16?

Perspective
2018 had 36,560 US deaths by auto accident and that is considered a good year.
1.35M people die across the world each year due to auto accidents.
Are you going to give up your car?
This is a serious pandemic. It just isnt novel.

Comparing smoking and driving to a virus with a 3.4% mortality that spreads very fast and has no vaccine. Wow

500,000 people die globally from the flu each year.

How far should we bend over and take it up the arse to save 3000 Americans? There are hundreds if worse societal problems. When will each one get their day in the sun?

Give me your numbers.
8/1/20
How many Americans infected?
How many Americans dead from Covid19.
You seem to think of this atrocity different than I do. How bad is it?

3.4% mortality
isn't that faulty data, as you mentioned? We don't have enough to go on with it....
Are we talking about overall deaths or %?
Cancer kills more overall each year and has a 33% mortality rate.
How many people die from car accidents every day?
Should we ban driving, even though the mortality rate is low, but still kills 38,000 ppl per year in the US EVERY year, not just during 1 massive flu season

Of course the majority will be okay but that is saying nothing. The question is how many will be not okay.

Flu numbers not in for this season but above are previous flu season.
In US, 600,000+ hospitalized and 57,000 deaths.
Perspective: covid19 has killed 7000 globally. After tearing arse all over the planet over two months.
Lets project...
7000 over 2 months, projects to 42,000 in a 12 month period.
Globally.

"The cuts started in 2018, as the White House focused on eliminating funding to Obama-era disease security programs. In March of that year, Rear Adm. Timothy Ziemer, whose job it was to lead the U.S. response in the event of a pandemic, abruptly left the administration and his global health security team was disbanded.
That same year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) was forced to slash its efforts to prevent global disease outbreak by 80% as its funding for the program began to run out. The agency, at the time, opted to focus on 10 priority countries and scale back in others, including China".
Welp, turns out even this is complete BS.here ya go

quote:
As we said, the CDC told us that’s false.
“CDC did not have to cut back its work from 49 to 10 countries,” said Maureen Bartee, CDC’s associate director for Global Health Security, in a statement to FactCheck.org. “In the FY18-FY20 annual appropriations, CDC received base appropriations for global health security from Congress. This was used to continue the essential public health capacity development in the four core areas that was started in 2014 with the one-time supplemental funds.”
quote:
With its current funding, Bartee said, the CDC is actually working in “more than 60 countries” — not 10 — to address the threat of global infectious diseases and outbreaks.
quote:
CDC operating budget plans show that its funding for global public health protection — which includes global disease detection and emergency response and global public health capacity — increased from $58 million in fiscal year 2017 to around $108 million in fiscal years 2018 and 2019. (And that does not include any remaining supplemental funds available for use.) The increases included nearly $50 million more each year for CDC’s global health security initiatives.
Honestly,I know you guys never want to admit you're wrong but you REALLY need to stop using Joy Behar as a source.
I've lost track on how many incorrect/false statements you've made but it never gets old proving you wrong.

The data suggests it's likely more
NO it does not. I live in the United States so I’m going by United States data not global data that contains less healthy people, poorer populations, more pollution, worse healthcare, etc.
It is a FACT that right now the fatality rate is 1.7% in the US and it has been dropping the more people test positive.

Holy frick how dense are you? Cancer can't be transferred by coughing or sneezing. We have no actual treatments for this nor do we have a vaccine. But I'm sure you're far more knowledgeable then the CDC
