I’ve never seen a major league bullpen this bad.

If our starters were better we wouldn't have to lean on them so hard.

But it ok, its a young team rebuilding (for 20 years).

The Braves have been rebuilding for 20 years? What?

Our starter was fantastic tonight. 6 2/3 IP with 2 ER against one of the best offenses in baseball.

Correct.Freakin Snitker and his dumbass pitch count. There was absolutely no reason to take out Soroka after 94 pitches with 2 outs in the 7th.

Snitker manages the lineup ok. I dont think he knows what to do with pitching. 0 progress has been made all year. Kranitz can't do anything either, clearly.

It's hard to watch the late game collapses.. I'm just afraid they won't progress a lot further with Snitker managing the team

Snit makes some real head scratching moves with the lineup sometimes. But what he’s done with the bullpen and pitching staff overall is unexplainable.

Please explain how you would manage the current bullpen differently? He's currently managing a team in place for back to back division titles, so I hope you have some great ideas.

Not necessarily the BP but the starters.Geez, how many times are you gonna yank Soroka when hes pitching a great game just because he's close to the pitch count?

He'll,John Smoltz brought up the same subject on the broadcast Friday nt. Mot specifically Soroka but the pitch count in general and how the model is "unsustainable"

He has such an insane quick hook with the starters any time they get a runner on in the 7th or if their spot comes up in the 6th or later with a runner on. There’s more value in letting Soroka make an out than to let the bullpen try and figure it out for 3-4 innings.

Often times he completely ignores splits. Ex: he used to run Biddle out against lefties consistently. He would get consistently hit. His splits against lefties were absolutely atrocious. Then other times he’ll completely disregard conventional wisdom and leave a guy like Blevins in to face a righty after getting a lefty out

I’m not saying the guy is a bad manager by any means. The players love him and they play hard for him. We’re 21 games over .500 so bitching about this seems absurd. But there are just consistently, head scratching decisions he makes that tend to go against not only standard logic, but analytics as a whole. The pen was great last night. That’s what we hoped it would be when we signed those guys. Let’s hope they can stay hot because we’ll need them with all the injuries we’ve suffered to the offense.

The pitch count thing isn't just a snitker decision. Management obviously has him on a pitch count. he has pitched 130 ish innings this year after only 25 or so last year. His highest career total is only 150. They are trying to keep him fresh for the playoffs. Snitker should be able to trust his pen to get 6 outs on most nights. Unfortunately, our own is fricking shite. I would lay that blame on the GM and the people who control our budget.

I think as Soroka gets older he will have more leeway to go deeper in the games but almost every team is careful with young pitchers.

The new guys look like they're settling in. They had a very good weekend against a ridiculous Dodgers lineup.

That's about as big of a quality win as you ever could ask for. To come back from a disaster 1st inning against a team like that one, and with your premadonna benched for premadonna'ing..

Exciting Times.

I'll never understand the mental patients though. That quit at first sign of adversity Friday night. Hashtag Born Losers.

Fried showed me something today. That could have gone sideways in a hurry but he rallied and shut them down after the 1st.

Ladyluck with the reverse jinx.

Anything bad to say about the Dawgs so they can be a dominant force as well?
