56 years old. Sad. Cancer sucks.

Very down to earth,blue collar guy who became quite successful in the insurance/ trucking business after the NFL

Story was Falcons had to get special shoulder pads for him because they didn’t have his size when he came up.

Dude was wide and mean. Died too young.

Last 2 years of college he was 6th and 8th in Heisman voting. Also credited with being the first person "pancake Block" was used as a saying.

I saw where he had passed from cancer. Hate to see that. I lost a brother to cancer when he was 57.

Morbid curiosity - what kind of cancer did he have? I don't remember ever seeing press that he was sick. Sad.

Indeed.

Lost my father and my grandfather to cancer.

Also battled it myself over 2018. In remission and cancer-free as of now, but of course I have to have MRIs over the next few years to make sure it's really gone.
