Something just seems weird about a CFA or any fast food type business at that location.

It probably just needs to be a really nice bar.

We used to go down down Athens cause it was cheap. My kid who just graduated from there says $50is an average night. Seems like $10 was a normal night when I was there, but down town was all seedy bars.

Maybe. I'm not sure it's got the room, though.

Choo Choos is still alive and well. Servicing all the late night degenerates like a lighthouse on the cliff of THC.

Choo choo is one of the all time goat restaurants when you wake up hungover as frick and hit the bowl and need some cheap food immediately.

I never heard of choo choo. What you described is what Taco Stand was for me and my ilk.

Choo Choos is best drunk. Your stomach is too full to eat the entire box, so you get to pass out after a light snacking and wake up in the morning to a wonderful, pre-made, breakfast.

This was my pattern. Best was when you called them in the van back home and had Choo Choos almost instantly.

A risky play with high upside.

When did it open? I can’t find opening date online. Im pretty sure that block of buildings didn’t exist when I was in school. Although I did live there much longer after that so it’s weird I never heard of it.

I rarely went over there though, in the last ten years. Tires Plus, Blind Pig, and CFA are all I ever went over there for. My wife was in the new vet school over there, she’s probably heard of it. Hell, she brought home so much takeout those years I’ve probably eaten it.

Not sure when it opened. I know it was there when I was about 10-12 years ago but not sure before that. I think it was in the early 2000s too for some reason but can't remember .

Peter, you can still have a night out with $20 but you are drinking shite beer and you need bartender buddies to hook you up with random shots.

I remember the $5 pitchers all over town, through dirty tap lines that would give you the shits. Ten bucks was more than enough to get drunk and burpy. Throw in a couple of warm hot-whiskey shots, somebody is gonna puke.

Don’t think I don’t remember what you tried to do to me at Caledonia 5 years ago.

Deep, I was thinking you and I were in school around the same time. If so, Choo Choo was there. I've never eaten it, but I've heard the "love stories". There was a second location for a while on Epps Bridge, but it didn't survive. Believe that's where Catch 22 is now.

I was '98-'02. Came back to work there in 2005, so I could be thinking of that.
