It all got ripped off last week. Filed police report. They recovered the bag, but minus the tackle inside it.

So, I want the DR's opinion on what to put back inside of it...

Bass, catfish, bream, trout, crappie in that order is what I fish for.

Budget is $75.

Begin now.

I have a bag for each. Then also basic accessories for each species in each bag also.

Bass Pro used to have a big end-of-season clearance in the Fall. Lot of half-price stuff - not sure if they still do that...

Yea $75 is gonna be tough. Just buy a bunch of rooster tails in various sizes and colors. Work well for all you mentioned except cats. Use hot dogs or liver's for them. Grab a few jigs and worms for bass and you're good. They'll work well this time of year when they're more lazy and don't want to chase anything.

I feel like you're trolling though. You seem to know enough about fishing takes this decision yourself?

I laughed out loud.

Here's the deal... I still have all my rods and reels.

Regarding the budget, I had already gone through downsizing a few years back when I had too many damn lures and there's really 4 or 5 things I use constantly, so I feel $75 is going to do me good. Especially since soft plastics make up about 68% of my bass fishing. And I use bait for catfish.

For trout and panfish, I fish for them the same, I like to keep some power bait in both the pellet style and the fake wiggler style, with a couple different hook and split shot sizes, as well as a few go-to patterns in the 1/16th oz Panther Martin offerings.

I should be able to keep this under $75.

I was gonna ask if you had rod and reels... If so spunk is right grab a handful of Panther martins in various colors and sizes ( personally a fan of Fire Tiger). After that I would get two bags of Yamamoto Senkos 5" and 6". I prefer the colors to be Green Pumpkin Blue and Watermelon Laminate. Get a pack of 3/0 Gamakatsu hooks and probably a pack of hooks that come in different sizes. A rattletrap, shallow diving crankbait, medium diving crankbait, two or three jigs in different sizes and color. I would get a frog or two for top water. Last but not least a few spinnerbaits, I love Hawg Callers made out of my hometown Winston Salem NC. If you can find them grab them but if not any other will do fine.

So you want him to blow 10% of his budget a few worms that will be destroyed after the first fish?

If you know what your doing and fish them right they will last a long time. I'm guessing your thinking about whacky rigging it. Texas rigging makes them last a lot longer. Whacky rigging them is the child's way of fishing for bass.

Deeprig you can't go wrong with Senkos. You can get some off brand imitation worms like Spunky here is but its just no the same as the real thing.

Do you know what makes Senkos better than the others?

If I knew then the other bait companies would know. The Senko is the one bait that no one has ever been able to replicate really well. Mainly because no one knows what's inside the worm that makes it weigh so much. I think sand is a major proponent but the other stuff I have no clue. No other imitation carries the same weight or action that the Senko has. There is a reason the pros throw nothing but Senkos and not the cheap crap. YUM dinngers might be the closest thing to a Senko but still not a Senko. When you learn what your talking about I'll have a legitimate bass fishing conversation with you but until then your attempts to make me quit the board work about as good an Senko imitation.

It's the texture of the worm. They're softer hence more action. Do you know what else happens to a softer bait? They tear easier.

I'm not saying they aren't the best. I'm saying a man with a $75 budget for several different species shouldn't be grabbing a pack of worms that will cost him 10% of his budget. Try'n keep up.

If you use wide gap worm hooks or jigs (for sunfish/crappie), PM me your address and I'll mail some to you. I have too much of that shite at the house. I also have a boat load of plastics - tubes for sunfish/crappie and bigger stuff for bass if you need some of that.
