The way I understand the modern buyouts is your buyout is reduced by whatever you make in a comparable job function. So if his buyout is $5 million a year but he gets a job making $1m a year, then his buyout is $4m that year.

If I'm wrong, someone please correct me. This is what I've been told by the people on the radio.

On the bright side, none of our draft eligible receivers will be tempted to rest on their laurels during the post-season.

I’ve been told by people who know more than me that the defense is super complicated to learn. Which is why they look like they are thinking more than playing sometimes. Also why we haven’t seen much Ellis Robinson.

He was there with his +2.5 readers on. I was going to ask about it, but thought I may have missed something and wasn’t up to speed since it seems like such a big deal

Why isn’t this a big deal / story ? Kirbs snatched a Wolfpack member out of retirement !

Pretty sure this is correct. I would also add, that you can't hire him as a DC and pay him $1 and allow the other team to pay him the remainder of the $5 million. You must pay a fair market value for that position. I'm not sure how they come up with fair market value, but i suspect it is something like the average salary of all people at similar sized schools in the same position.

Short answer...yes. I am pretty sure you are correct.
