It's rare that you have a true mulligan game but that's what this was. Figure out if we have better options at QB - if not then so be it...another year in the top 4 but not quite good enough unfortunately.

Why do we have to get beat before we try another QB?

All I can say let’s hope Daniels is the answer and truth or you’re right. Stetson wasn’t and isn’t going to be enough. Maybe not even enough to win the East. Bama knew he couldn’t take the top off the defense and the amount of passes he got batted down was embarrassing.

Kirby has no feel for them. Not rehash the whole Fields saga but no way we shouldn’t have seen him in the LSU 2nd half in Baton Rouge.

Because Stetson has played pretty well and the players like him.

He was not good tonight - I'm not saying we need to bench him but hopefully this is a wake up call that 24 points will never be enough in modern CFB. The bar needs to be 45 points per game.

It didn’t work against LSU in 2018 or Auburn in 2017 we stuck with the game manager. No reason to think we don’t do the same this year. Daniels is eithe unhealthy or no good. Either way Bennett is the man for whatever reason. No sign of that changing

The only problem with having a mulligan is it could very easily mean we end out playing them 3 times this season if we win the SEC championship. They wouldn’t hold out bama from the playoffs if we beat them in the SEC championship. That means we likely have to go 2 for 2 against them later this year.

I bet we see another QB vs KY. Stetson can’t grow any taller. Sucks that that limits him but it does.

I give stet zero blame for this loss. He was never brought here to compete for the starting QB position or to take a single snap against Alabama.

The question is how the hell did we get in this QB situation to begin with?

Stet on the other hand has outplayed his expectations by a magnitude of 10. And we’re lucky to have him to salvage something from this season while Kirby and Monken throw darts at names of transfer portal QBs on a dartboard hoping to get one that doesnt quit or underwhelm.

Very true. And I’m hopeful that any sane Georgia fan has that perspective. Stetson is a warrior and an amazing example for any athlete, but we’ve got to figure out QB better going forward.

Considering another QB started the first game and got pulled in the second quarter...this seems like a silly question.

It’s even sillier when you think back and remember that other than 2018 and 2019 Kirby changed starting QBs before a loss every season he’s been at Georgia.

We pulled Mathis after 1 quarter and change. As much a I like the kid, if Stetson plays the whole season without Daniels getting a chance and/or Mathis getting another shot both will transfer for sure.

I'm sure they both think they're better and there's a good chance they're both right.

Funny....I don’t remember JT Daniels getting pulled ever.

I don't really know how that's relevant. You asked why we had to lose to see a different quarterback. Clearly that's not the case as the first guy got pulled when he couldn't get it done. JT is either still not 100% or Stet is better in practice.

JT is cleared and he won the qb competition which is why Newman left. Read for yourself. Written two hrs ago on dawgnation.

I said JT is either not 100% or Stet is better in practice. Your article says:
quote:

Daniels’ knee is cleared, but he has not yet been deemed ready to take over the offense.

So you're saying I'm right?

Yeah you’re right. Justin Fields wasn’t ready to take over either.
