Grantham had a damn good scheme vs the Dawgs last year, and the year before that, too.

Mullen did more with less at MSU so I expected nothing less at Florida. When he has the right QB for his system, he can be tough.

He is good. What he did with the Bizarro Bulldogs was very impressive and he's upgraded UF from where they were under McElwain and Boom.

His lack of recruiting is going to always keep him from contending for titles, though. I think the Miss. St. gig was probably ideal for him. He could get enough talent to stay competitive with a clever offensive scheme and a mobile QB, but he didn't have to worry about trying to pull top 10 classes every year.

He's a weirdo, though, and his wife being ultra touchy-feely and involved with his players is also very strange.

And continuing to run Trask on 4 & short after he came back with the knee brace was a head-scratcher. Why risk compounding his injury?

The Florida Auburn game went just as people expected. Two talented defensive teams with inexperienced quarterbacks and mediocre running games, both committing multiple turnovers and struggling to score. We have to admit (whether we want to or not) that Mullen hasn't proven anything yet.

UF just accomplished what I was thinking might happen...They exposed an Auburn O-line that's decent and serviceable, but not great. They hit Nix, rattled him, and forced him into making some mistakes and some questionable passing decisions.

Florida's o-line is not good, either. Before Perine scored on that back-breaker of a TD on a completely gassed AU defense, UF had only like 50 yards rushing. The game just came down to some big plays...Florida made theirs, and AU didn't, despite being in the red-zone on 4 occasions. Grantham blitzed the hell out of AU, and they never did adjust...so, he kept it up.

No 3rd and Granthams to report on this game.

He is a good coach, but they would have gotten smashed if Franks was playing.

Franks' injury is helping ol' Danny Boy out, because he would still be the QB if he hadn't gotten hurt

UF should be our biggest test to this point.

Don't think we can frick around in the first half as has been customary.

He is.

Right now (read this all the way through before you poop in your hand and throw it at me) Florida is the best team in the East. I don’t think they will be at season’s end, but they’ll go as far as their defense can take them. The Georgia - Florida game is going to be a four quarter war and UF will be the best team we play in the regular season. Mullen going to have to string together some upper echelon recruiting classes to sustain over the long term though.

Difference between UGA and AU/UF, all conference QB with a stout oline.

I think Fromm will feast on both if the wrs do their part.

Nix is a true freshman QB and is not ready for a good SEC defense. The Auburn OL did not help out much. He will be a little better by the time we play them so our D will have to be good.
I think our OL can handle their DL, and our WRs should be more experienced by November 2. We have two games and an off week to work on our shortcomings.

AU didn’t have a great running game either....which is CTG Kryptonite. We do.

Also...if anybody can see what’s coming and exploit it Fromm can...so I think we’ll have a much better showing.

Mullen is an excellent coach, I dunno why anyone would ever dispute that.

He had Mississippi St. ranked #1 at one point, let me repeat that. He had Mississippi St. ranked #1 at one point.

This upcoming FLA game just got a whole lot more interesting/scary.

he also had that same team lose to Georgia Tech. I repeat, his previously ranked #1 team lost to Georgia Tech.

And no one remembers that he didn't finish anywhere near #1 and that the 3 highly rated teams he beat all finished with 5 losses each. It's really not that impressive when you look where they all finished.

And he didn't beat a single team that had more than 8 wins that entire season.

Mullen's conference record in nine seasons at MSU was 33-39, with one season over .500 vs the SEC (6-2 in 2014). Good, maybe considering it's MSU. Not excellent.
