Is it just me?

At G-Day, I noticed they seemed more obnoxious and braindead. Guffawing jackasses, more than ever.

The day before, the day after, actual G-Day early in the day, not during drunk hours, just sober hours.

I wouldn't judge a drunk fratboy being a drunk fratboy, I know better than that.

I'm judging the sober 11 AM frat boy.

And it's not just the boy. It is the boys. Plural. Multiple encounters. East side, west side, didn't matter.

I don't remember them being this obnoxious in the 90's, sober. I remember them being cool people when sober, in the daytime, in the 90's.

Something has changed.

Or is it just me?

According to my UGA student children, Snapchat and the age of video validation has made them feel they need to be “on”at all times in a zero sum game of one upmanship. It’s not just about telling a gal how rich your parents are and then date raping them apparently....they have to work.

I’m not saying this is the only reason, but it’s definitely the leading contributing factors or this issue. And it’s the same source of most of the states problems...........

One word:

You're just getting old. We all are....

"drunk hours"? If you weren't drunk by 11am on gameday then you must be showing up late.

Did anyone notice the two Spike Squaders that espn featured close-up as they started G day coverage?

They weren't just the normal harmless dorky college kids having fun. Nope. These two were middle-aged balding ATL bandwagon gueedo goons. Clearly transplants to ATL from some northeastern shithole where grown men still wear jerseys or costumes to NFL games like the pig nose people in DC and that fireman retard for the Jets that thinks he's head cheer coordinator.

We are so fricked. Thanks atlanta.

This is my guess - in the age of snapchat / instagram (barstoolsports, 5thyear, etc.) everyone is trying to be the source of the next hilarious video that gets millions of likes/upvotes.

You're just older now so you look at through a different lense. When I was 19 and in college I looked around at other people's behavior and whether I acted the same way or not I didn't really think much of i because it was "normal". Nowadays I look at how 19 year olds act and think "things sure have changed since my day!" which I don't really think it accurate, I'm just so far removed from that time that it seems odd.

And you're much older than me so your perspective is likely even more distorted.

The problem with this theory is that deeprig still voluntarily goes to phish concerts. Not to chaperone his kids there, but to actually pay money to go surround himself with the most hilarious spastic moronic idiots you will find gathered anywhere on earth. On purpose. And without passing judgment.

So, if this scenario doesn't trigger his old man wisdom cringe instincts, then I think we can rule these instincts out as a factor in the frat kid thing. Which off course puts Atlanta in the lead as the root cause of it.

From ATL moved to NYC and back again, it's not like I married a username for the rest of my life. So are we as UGA fans not open to new fans? Do we not want more people to embrace the UGA brand? Also, if you haven't ever looked, check out the UGA alumni bar in manhattan - LINK

Maybe you don’t know it, but Jefferson is one of the most arse backwards uga fans out there, so take his messages with a grain of salt.

Friday, Sat, Sunday, didn't matter time of day or where we were, the fratstars were extra jackassy.

Obviously 11am on the day of Gday there were people already drunk, including myself.

I can liken them to 10 year old boys in that awkward age just before puberty when they are extra obnoxious acting like six year olds but in a ten year old's body. These fratstars were acting like 10 year olds in a 18 year old's body.

I didn't notice it with the sorostitutes. They don't seem to have changed, except for fashion trends.

The snapchat/social media thing is probably a factor. As someone else said, the guys are always trying to one-up each other, all the time.

Sorostitutes have always been generally vain so they're less outwardly affected.
