I think our defense is better than the past 2 seasons. We are stouter at the defensive line (when jordan davis is healthy). We have more depth in the secondary. And we have linebackers with speed and enough experience to know their roles.

This is an interesting challenge this week.
2 years ago, we shut down the run game of missouri but gave up 4 passing TDs (several over the top).
Last year, we shut down the passing game but gave up 4 rushing TDs.

I think we are good enough to play missouri straight up (shut down the run with base defense and still have a good /great pass defense behind it. Especially if we get them behind the chains.

But this week will be a chance to show it on the field. Missouri put up 4 TDs the past 2 seasons and scored 26 three seasons ago.

They also had a phenomenal quarterback in lock. We need to hold them under 14 points and be in the mid 30s

Can we get pressure with 4, like we did against Florida?

That changes everything, one way or another.

I havent seen much about it since Saturday, but Monty Rice had arguably his best game as a Dawg vs. Florida. Looked like he channeled some Roquan pre game.

With great WR's in '17

They were supposed to have the 3rd best OL
in the conference along with an AA TE in
Okwuegbunam this year. Its pretty much gone in the toilet the last month and Bryant sounds like he's out.

True, but they are also riding a 9-game winning streak in the month of November dating back to 2016.
This isn't going to be easy, and if we're on an emotional let-down from the big win last week, we could be in trouble if we come out flat.

This ish has 'trap game' written all over it.

Their OL seems to be a little bit better than Florida. But they have not played a decent DL other than SC. They're giving up 3 sacks/game on the road.

As dawg395793954339 mentioned, they are much better at home. 11.6 pts allowed per game at home, 29 on the road. 237.4 yards per game at home, 354 on the road. At home they are allowing 70.20 rushing per game. In 3 games on the road, they have allowed 248 yard per game rushing.

They also have yet to play a ranked team. They have played one winning team (Wyoming)

Dawgs 45-10

Means nothing.

I'd be a little more concerned if it was a noon game and them having an off week bothers me more than playing in the WLOCP
last week.

I just don't see their Offense doing much especially with Bryant questionable and I think we're hitting our stride on offense.

Isn't Kelly Bryant questionable for this game?

KB is very questionable. 50/50 as of Thursday. KB is has been playing injured since before this losing streak started. If hes not 90% or better come tomorrow, hes worse than our back up Powell who then should play.

And yes we're an awful team on the road, very bad.

But its deeper than that, it really feels like this team doesn't care anymore. Players in interviews have said things that fall in line with not caring.

Unless a miracle happened during that bye week(Odom is also something like 1-8 in games after a bye week or time to prepare)we'll get stomped the worst we have since LSU 4 years ago.

Go easy on us, dawgs.

Looks like he's cleared

quote:

Missouri coach Barry Odom indicated he expects quarterback Kelly Bryant to be a go when the Tigers play Georgia on Saturday.

“We just finished up our Wednesday practice, and Kelly took the majority of the snaps with the ones and Taylor (Powell) is working in like he has every other week, the two reps,”

A colleague's son is a rFR WR on the MiZzzou team. He's been out with a meniscus tear, but I believe he's just been cleared to play. No word if he's going to make the trip to Athens, however.

It makes me sick to my stomach that our 2013 team was so staggeringly bad that we dropped one game to y'all in the whole series. It took an amazingly poor targeting call to put the nail in that game.

Their defense makes me nervous. They don't give up explosive plays, they make a ton of sacks, and they are great at stopping teams on 3rd down.

I'm thinking 21-6.

well to be fair, we should have won 2015, and 2016 could have gone either way. As for 2015, no one should have been forced to watch that game. EASILY the most boring game ever.

So what exactly happened to your offense?
Why the sudden drop off after putting big numbers up against SC and OM?

You guys are a tough bunch to figure our.
