Richt had a NC pedigree when hired...
I think we're all in agreement that the game has fundamentally changed through the course of Richt's tenure in Athens, too. I venture to say that that figures into the equation of why CMR looks lost in 2015.

Schittyheimer is out of here no matter what.
CMR could have taken a first step by cutting his OC lose Sunday a.m... Make Lilly interim OC until end of season. 9 qtrs... 135 min. of TD'less ball & only 4td's in 4 games as an OC with the talent UGA trots out on the field every Sat. is reason for immediate termination... CMR is not serious about his program anymore.

Lack of offensive production at UGA with the talent provided equates to football malpractice.

We can still very much win with our style. The problem for Richt is that a bunch of SEC teams (mainly west) upgraded their football programs with high dollar coaches, facilities, etc. and we got comfortable with two cake walk division titles without really doing anything. Now you have elite coaching and talent everywhere with indoor practice facilities and expectations, just not at Georgia.

Our talent level isn't special on offense, and our o's always struggle vs strong d's.

quote:Exactly. There is zero benefit to Schotty being involved with the program at this point. What happens if he's gone, we don't score TDs and risk losing out? Richt will probably try and sacrifice Schotty at the end of the season but If McGarity and co allow that, it's the lazy approach.

I'd love to understand his game plan. With two weeks to prepare for Florida with a mobile QB, we only saw a couple of plays designed around Batua's legs. I just don't understand the reasoning.

Very true but thhat is pretty much what we do to a tee

I think fans are overrating Bauta's athleticism relative to UF defensive players. That wasn't going to work.

While it's fair to say that we don't know what McGarity would do with a HC hire, it makes me nervous to think that he would be driving the search.

Downvoted out of principle.

This is the only thing worse than having CMR still coaching next year...

That is absolutely terrifying

“Our mentality is definitely different (since the Texas game),” offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley said. “There’s no question. We’ve grown, we’ve gotten a lot better from that. We learned a lot about ourselves in that game.”
The Sooners' latest blowout win follows a pair of others — a 55-0 win over Kansas State and a 63-24 victory against Texas Tech — marking the first time since 2008 an OU squad has scored at least 55 points in three consecutive games.
That 2008 team, also rebounding from a Texas loss, rode that streak for the final six games of the season before falling 24-14 to Florida in the BCS national title game.

Typically the visor on the sidelines suffices as a great personality test for a coach, on the fly. frick no to Mullen.

Don't need Cousin Eddie in Athens

I'm not endorsing Mullen. Just saying that's who McGarity would try to hire, given his history.

quote:Very possible but Bauta looked pretty good rolling out and moving around the pocket. If he wasn't going to be used differently than Lambert, it makes me wonder why they didn't switch him out after the first half. I kept waiting to see him run plays that were different from what I've seen already this season.
I think fans are overrating Bauta's athleticism relative to UF defensive players. That wasn't going to work
Also, he didn't need to be Tebow, just run some plays that kept the defense honest. He wasn't throwing downfield except for a couple of lollipops, so he didn't offer anything over Lambert except some attitude, which wasn't getting the job done by itself.
