4 Alabama Football Players Arrested on Robbery Charges
Feb 12th, 2013 at 7:36 am by tonyorlandoNews
UPDATE 8:55 - Eddie Williams, a defensive back who was getting a look at a wide receiver, was also charged on February 10 with carrying a pistol without a license. It’s not known whether this charge led to the other arrests.
Four Alabama Crimson Tide football players were arrested Monday on charges of second degree robbery.
The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office website notes that Eddie Williams, Dennis Pettway, Tyler Hayes and Brent Calloway were booked on charges of second degree robbery and fraudulent use of a credit card.
We contacted the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Department and they had no comment at the time.
According to the Alabama Criminal Code, if convicted of second degree robbery, a defendant can face a minimum of 2 years with a maximum of 20 years. If a weapon is involved, the minimum goes to ten years.
All four players are sophomores who have seen action on the field in 2012, and with the possible exception of Calloway, were expected to contribute in 2013.
We wrote previously about Calloway’s troubles with the law, and hoped this would serve as a wakeup call. While all the facts are not yet in, this does not look good for the football program and head coach Nick Saban will have some decisions to make very soon.

What? This can't happen...we all KNOW that Saban's players are too afraid of 'em and have too much respect for em to do ANYTHING wrong.
Isn't that the reason our players get in trouble? Because they don't "respect" CMR?
I am shocked!

Sucks for Bama. Once these jokers get kicked off they'll be down to 97 scholarship players.

You guys are missing it. Saban told the TPD to arrest these guys. Don't you know he has to make room for his players? He has been getting flack lately about medical redshirts, so he has come up with a new way to "process" his guys. Duhhhh.

I'm surprised cops even brought 'em in. Usually they just get autographs and let 'em go!

I am debating on getting the REAL lowdown. Y'all have the recruiting info. I have the criminal info.
Hold the line.

I would think bama will take the lead for all of this.

You guys can't spot a false flag event even when it smacks you in the face...
Saban takes it to a whole new level. Redshirt? nah Medical greyshirt? how trite.
How bout 2 full years to work out, train, room and board paid for, whole new set of tats - and then walk back into the lineup....a grown man....with the same eligibility you left with.
And nothing less than the guarantee of the Alabama State Prison System to guarantee that you've received no compensation or visits from agents. Hell...they'll probably be able to study up and make some progress towards their degrees as well.
How else do you handle 85 4 and 5 star recruits???
CMR...it's the first day of school...

Eddie Williams is from here in Floida where I live. His high school coach, James Hale, was on the news tonight almost in tears- I quote Hale "We just don't know how this could happen. Eddie was such a model student here at Arnold High. I spoke to his mother this morning and she is in shock. I know he had around a 3.0 GPA at Alabama. I just don't know how he could throw all that away" Williams was a thug here when he went to Arnold. Always was and always will be
