So glad we missed out on him so we could end out with Pickens

Love his attitude and approach to the game. Really hoping he's ready to go by the start of the season.

Pickens grew up fast, minus the retaliation, and it was a joy to watch him improve throughout the season. Who is this Haselwood guy you're talking about?

5-star WR that was committed to UGA for a while, and flipped to Oklahoma.

Pickens and haselwood would have been nice. Cager plus two other ballers. Imagine all Simmons or Landers' targets going to haselwood. We could be champs right now.

We weren’t going to get both Haselwood and Pickens so I’m glad we got the one we got.

Pfft.

We got Gurley and Marshall.

We got Chubb and Michel.

We got Milton and Evans (pending).

Why can't we expect to get two 5* receivers in the same class every once in a while?

Are you saying we still have a shot at Evans? Just curious, thought Tamu had paid someone off...

I read some stuff yesterday saying it is still a possibility. Red tape and whatnot.

He's going to end up a very good player after he gets stronger and can play a more physical game.

Not sure if we could have had both he and Picken, but that moot now. I do doubt there will ever come a point where I'd rather have gotten JH than GP.

Because these only reason we got george was because jadon decommitted. We already had JH and DB committed for like a year and a half. We were set, so we thought.

I'd take Haselwood in a heartbeat. Blaylock seems like a good kid but he's more of a possession receiver.

possession receiver.

We need those too.

That said, Blaylock led the team in yards per catch and was 2nd in TDs behind Pickens. He isnt just a possession receiver. He is a playmaker.

Just not sure how realistic it is to just expect to be able to get 2 5* WRs in one class. Most would probably take JH over DB. However, 5* WR want to go be THE man. Not go share the limelight with another stud.

That's what makes DB so special to me. He DGAF Haselwood was coming to UGA. He was ready to come compete with he #1 WR in the class.

I agree with jodo again (need to get my head checked). Blaylock in high school was a playmaker but at this level, so far, he looks like a possession receiver (whatever that mean).

It means... Blaylok will be the recipient of a 3 yard bootleg to beat Bama... and Pickens will set it up with a 45 yard reception from Newman.

In context I guess it means...

Possession receiver.. if it is 3rd and 7, he runs 8 yards, catches the ball reliably, and then gets tackled on the spot, maintaining possession of the ball, both literally possessing it, and the offense maintains possession instead of punting, but that's all you'll ever get from him.

That's what I think of when someone says "possession" receiver.

A possession receiver isn't going to outrun anybody,he doesn't reliably win jump-balls, he's not going to make many, if any, magic crazy highlight reel catches with one hand with a defender in his facemask while blatantly holding him, 40 yards downfield, on the sideline, and still managed to get a toe in bounds.

Is everyone in agreement here on what a Possession Receiver is? That's what I think it is.
