Top Tier Recruits
Trent Thompson - bust
Terry Godwin - very good
Roquan Smith - great
Jonathan Ledbetter - good
Natrez Patrick - bust
D'Andre Walker - great
2 great out of 6 (33%). 4 out of 6 good or better (66%)

Mid-tier recruits
Rashad Roundtree - bust
Rico McGraw - bust
Chauncey Rivers - bust
Jackson Harris - ok
Pat Allen - bust
Jayson Stanley - ok
Michael Barnett - ok
3 contributors out of 7 (42%)

Low tier recruits
Michael Chigbu - noncontributor
Juwan Briscoe - Bust
Sam Madden - noncontributor
Sage Hardin - noncontributor
Shaq Wilson - bust
Deandre Baker - great
Johnathan Abram - bust
Chuks Amaechi - bust
Daquan Hawkins-Muckle - contributor
Justin Young - contributor
Mirko Jurkovic -bust
Jarvis Wilson - noncontributor
Kirby Choates - bust
Tae Crowder - good
Juwan Taylor - contributor
1 great out of 15 (6%). 2 good or better (12%). 4 contributors or better (26%)

The reason for the bust label on a lower tier recruit is if they left the team.

Tae Crowder is up for several national awards. I’d say he is more than just good.

I agree. I'm waiting to see how he stacks up in All Conference. There are a ton of great linebackers in the conference. If he gets honorable mentions, then I'd put him as great.

He is great as a low ranked recruit, already. My hope is that "great" is someone who pushes for top 20% at his position within the conference. I have probably jumped the gun on a few 2019 recruits as great. But they really flash as true freshmen.

Natrez Patrick - bust

What? He started 27 games and made it to the NFL (Rams)

Obviously had issues but was still a big contributer.

Just look at his senior season.
He got jumped by Tae Crowder and Juwan Taylor at ILB. Look at the original post carefully (look for Tae and Juwan). Now look at Natrez Patrick. At best, he is OK (but not for a high 4 star recruit). Add in the 3 suspensions (2 for marijuana and another for the 2017 playoffs). I stick with bust for the way his career ended.

For the record, I was sky high on this kid in 2015 with Jeremy Pruitt's system. He was to be the next Ramik Wilson. An ILB who could walk up to the line and hold the outside edge or blitz as needed.

what's the difference between a non-contributor and bust, particularly as it applies to lower tier (thus lower expectations) recruits?

Noncontributor isnt playing on the field (contributes as scout team and practice). Bust is someone who took one of our slotted spots in the recruiting class but transferred out or got kicked out.
