I do know they are religious hardliners and the old Ayatollah had a fatwa on using nuclear weapons. He's dead now though. Like I said in the earlier pages, it would have done Iran well to not play the middle on this and to have just gone for the nuke. None of this shite would have happened for fear of them using it. See North Korea.

Is the nicene creed a conspiracy theory? It is the same to Catholics as the Imam al-Mahdi is to Twelver Shia Muslims.
The belief in the hidden imam is a fundamental tenet to twelver Shia Muslims. These are the fundamentalists who run the IRGC and Iran.
The belief is that there is a 12th prophet who has been hiding for hundreds of years. The apocalypse will call him from hiding to where he and Jesus conquer Islam's enemies.
Similar to Christians, the end of the world is a good thing. But to them, they can bring it about by bringing on nuclear war.
If Hitler had a nuke. He would have used it before defeat. Iran is no different. The war was a preemptive war.
The MOU is focused on no nuclear weapons for Iran. Iran must finally acknowledge a forfeiture of any sovereign right to a nuclear weapon.
That is one of the few defined goals of the bombing of Iran. And it is the most important aspect of the MOU.

A quick Google shows that the nuclear war part is a small minority. Just like some Christians want to bring on end times. Boring

As to the Middle East, oil caused this problem and it is all about oil in the end. All the rest of the "chatter" is just to obfuscate the oil issue.
Over a century ago the Standard Oil Company & British Petroleum recognized a tribe of wandering nomads over the Persian Empire for the oil concession. The "white folks" lands of Europe and America have been the bad guys since. To make matters worse we put the European Jews in Israel and gave them a country with no oil.
Not the finest hour for Anglo Policy decisions and the one POTUS who brokered a genuine peace, we ridicule. Oddly, the most Christian POTUS in my lifetime, but that is how the spin doctors protect the oil interests.
