I lure a few here and there with the tweets. I've basically turned this thread into a personal journal and time capsule.

Used to be more active in regards to current events with whataboutism rationalization. That has cooled. There's not really much you can defend anymore and still have decency.
Dawgcountry likes to drive by when things look "good" for Trump and post gifs or emojis.
The political talk board is really eye opening. I try not to post over there too much but sometimes I can't help it. It's sickening.

Doubtful. It will mean the AI stock bubble corrects and maybe a market correction but not a recession IMO. In fact, companies directing resources to something other than AI might be a good thing.

If they decide it costs too much and stop building data centers and reduce chip buys, etc....with the inflation we have currently and consumer sentiment way down, I think it definitely pushes us into a recession. The only saving grace may be the government. Like I said a few pages they may consider AI the golden goose and do whatever it takes to keep it chugging along.
Then you would have the stock markets tank, along with 6 dollars a gallon for gas as we drain all of our reserves. Then maybe a Chinese invasion? Who knows

Now, the billionaires behind these companies are in the perfect position. Reap all the rewards if everything goes to plan, and if the worst case scenario happens, socialize the losses to the taxpayers and get a bail out.
I'm exposed to AI stocks but still. The outcomes for the common man are 1) AI meets the hype and steals your job and the infrastructure fricks up your land and natural resources or 2) AI disappoints and then you get a recession and a bailout to navigate and pay for.
