That's fair enough and "poor judgment" works. But some fans seem easily confused. Herbstreit is a former player and television personality. Lee Corso is a former coach and television personality. McAfee is a former punter and television personality.
Fans acting like Herbstreit is an actual journalist or reporter and he broke some journalistic code of ethics or reporter ethos is just bizarre.

I saw that interview with the father. He said that Herbstreit called him, not the other way around.

He is a representative of ESPN who swings the biggest dick in terms of college football politics.
There are absolutely ethical issues with both Kirk and ESPNs role in college sports.
But he who has the money breaks the rules.

I wasn't that upset when Raiola dipped, so I'm not that upset with Kirk. However, I do believe that he has crossed an ethical line that exists within his "profession" and should be held accountable for it
