Lecounte but he seems like a bad fit for the NFL. Not a huge ball hawk. Not a thumper even though he acts like he is. Probably not good enough to move to corner.
Agreed. He’s going to have to be the hybrid LB/S type... but as you said he isn’t as much a thumper as he acts.

Connected or not I don’t see all these guys leaving ! There’s no way they make these decisions this week Kirby is to busy to sit down and discuss anything but recruiting right now .

Not sure where Wilson is expected to go draft wise this year, but I’d bet my paycheck if he anchored LT next year he’d be a top 5 pick.....and LT is where all the $$$ at!

These kids don’t need Kirby’s blessing to leave so I’m not sure why Kirby being too busy recruiting has much to do with it

This morning on 92.9, Radi said not to believe anything on Fromm. Has it on "good authority" that no decision has been made. Will be discussing with family over the break.

Wilson will go high. He has the size and the chops. Not a bad decision.

It cracks me up every year how folks act like none of the kids should leave
Also, whoever said losing Rice would be the biggest loss and included Fromm...come on dude.

Who does this? Don't think anyone thinks Thomas or Swift shouldn't leave.
Folks are suprised when they see guys leaving who might not be ready and could probably boost their draft status had they
stayed.

I saw one guy posting how Swift should come back after all the PFF hooplah. I can't remember where.
It always happens. Isiah Wilson was always gonna be a possibility and I don't think he made a mistake. Bump up stock? Sure, but, again, that 2nd contract is more important and he's already high grade. But based on some things I have seen Isiah Wilson more or less made the biggest mistake of his life.
I mean, I get it. Some folks it would be a mistake. I think Big Ben leaving would be a mistake. I do not think, though, Lecounte or Wilson leaving would be all that detrimental.

I think there are WAY too many that do go that absolutley shouldn't. Hell look at last year as exhibit A; Nauta and Ridley had zero business leaving early if you're talking about from a logical/drafting standpoint. IF those guys were simply mentally done with college and ready to go then sure, that's their choice and you can't blame them. But from a "is this the best for your future and your NFL draft prospects" standpoint they completely and royally fricked up. Just like some of these guys this year will do as well.

You can also point to Trenton Thompson. I will disagree on Ridley, though. I think he got a decent grade back if memory serves and he went, what, 3rd round? Nauta's choice was pretty awful.
DOn't mistake my comment so much as saying it for all guys. There are certainly some who shouldn't. Perhaps I should have been more specific but what makes me cringe is seeing posts about people who have a decent argument for leaving early being derided for making the choice and "how much they're losing out on".

I meant to say holyfield instead of ridley sorry.
Posted on 12/18/19 at 9:03 am to WG_Dawg
I'm tempted to argue that as well. The way I saw was Holyfield showed a lot his Junior year after being virtually unknown outside of our fans. Another year sharing the rock with Swift may not really have propelled him all that much further up the boards. He had incredibly low mileage and not a lot of bad tape.
At that point I cant blame him too much for avoiding injury or a downturn in production. Now, I will say hindsight is 20/20. Had I known that his combine would be such a disaster then I would probably have changed my tune. I would hope he'd know that stuff and, if anything, not do it
.
Obviously the gamble didn't work for him but idk how much I fault him for it. Whereas Nauta had absolutely no reason to go pro IMO. Same with Thompson although I know he had a kid.
There's also those 2 brothers who played here, who was that giant NG who he and his bro left early and disappeared? He worked with John Jenkins.

RD has been on the “Wilson comes back” train for a while now, so he isn’t about to get off.
Posted on 12/18/19 at 9:11 am to djsdawg
I always thought Wilson would be gone. But being the man at left tackle is giving me second thoughts as to what he should do.
I'm glad for him and his decision. He has a body perfect for the nfl and should have a long career regardless of the draft spot.

Fromm ain't going 4th round. He has already been told he is looking at 2nd early 3rd round.

Sounds rock solid. No way Fromm can drop any further than that because someone guessed a range in December. Cancel the combine.

Considering teams have already said they are interested in him and believe they can tweak his mechanics. I'd say that estimate is pretty correct.
