Who are you expecting him to run down? 200 pound quarterbacks? He racked up 10 qb hurries this season (4 last year).

No... he isn't going to catch them. But if you ask any DC, they'll take a QB hurry from a big guy.

Besides, slimming down to 300 pounds from 350 isn't going to make a difference chasing qbs around.

I know that his position changed this season, but his tackle total jumped up to 50. He was about half of that last season. And when teams run away from him, he even was making plays 3 to 5 yards downfield against the run from the opposite side DE spot.

The guy's size has been nothing but an asset this season.

I personally think jenkins would be more consistent at 345-350 range...Yea losing 10 lbs would make him a little quicker. He will never be able to be that guy that runs people down....but he could get a little more quicker off the line.

Last year he didnt start to i it was think mid season. So his stats had to be more this year..he was a starter all 12 games. All i'm saying he would be dominant at 345-350 lb range

He didn't start against Boise. He didn't start against South Carolina.
But he got significant reps (half) in both of those games.
He started the rest and took maybe 75-80% of the snaps at NT in 2011.

If you're complaining about 10 pounds, then you're a nancy. quick worrying about what someone looks like in the mirror, nancy.

Everyone is more solid in the NFL.
250 in the NFL isn't 250 in college.

Jenkins will get there when he doesn't have to worry about picking up books and he can worry about picking his rear end up stadiums.

Haloti Ngata is around 360 or damn close to it I think and he's a perennial pro bowler. Remember Sam Adams and Tony Siragusa? They were gigantic human beings and both were GREAT defensive tackles. Adams was so damn big he couldn't even tuck his jersey in.

John Jenkins is one of the most athletic DT's in the country, especially at his weight.

He maybe but his fat gut as him winded in the forth quarter. Still haven't seen a link about Jenkins yet.
Mayes will be tough for all four quarters. He doesn't have as big as gut as Jenkins has.

John Jenkins is fine where he is. He will be a good pro at around the same weight.

Sterling Bailey is never going to be the guy. Ive been trying to tell you guys this since you were all slobbering over him as an obscenely overrated 4* recruit. That region he plays in is awful. He got owned when he played even decent competition.

Is it official that he will miss the game or still just hearsay?

Just rumor right now...Richt said he'd discuss player academic's after x-mas..

All they're saying right now is that he hasn't participated in bowl practices & that he got a concussion in the SECCG...

While he may have fallen short of the expectations which many had of him, I think he did pretty damned well.

I hope he has an excellent pro career.
