Much of this year Carter has either been hurt and not played or is limited to 2 downs. All the rest of these guys come back with a year of experience. I don’t think they’ll be 2021 but they should be close to 2022.

There's an obvious difference when he's on the field though. Tennessee and Oregon agree.

Didn't he put his name in the portal hat at one point. I think he was convinced to come back after becoming a strong lean to go to FSU if i'm not mistaken. I personally think he's the starter next year.

The DL won't be as good as it was in 2021 or 2022. It can't be. There is a very real chance that our 2021 DL could have ultimately consisted of five first round draft picks that played significant snaps. There is a nonzero chance that we have consecutive #1 overall picks from the defensive line. That is incredible.

You need to look at my link on Film Don't Lie.
Mykel Williams
Bear Alexander
Jalon Walker
MJ Sherman

Give these guys a chance to be upperclassmen and a scheme designed just for their strengths.

We also have 6-4 340 NT Jarrett coming in as well. He’s a freak and will probably see significant playing time as a freshman.

Warren Brinson too. I’m excited to see him in a feature role.

I know you were responding to VA and not me, but I don't think he's wrong. He didn't say the DL would suck, just that it's almost certainly impossible to be better next year than what it has been. All the guys you mentioned either will be really damn good and some are already halfway there anyway. But they aren't Jordan Davis/Jalen Carter/Travon Walker/Devonte Wyatt all playing on the same line. It's just filhty that that was our DL rotation last year. Almsot hard to even comprehend having all those guys at once.

And I know you’re replying to him and not me but….

Wyatt, Davis, Walker are gone this year and there’s not been that much drop off. Next year we will only lose Carter and Walthour. Guys like Brinson, Stackhouse, Logue, and especially guys like Bear, Williams, and Ingram-Dawkins are very very good players who are all playing right now.

Agree to disagree on 2022 vs 2023.

No... we aren't getting 2021 back.
But our front 7 should be better.
Malaki and Bullard are back.
Lassiter is developing into a great college CB.

These are just projections but feel free to bookmark this. Nothing is changing 2022 to 2023.
