Is there a reason we're not running the ball?

Am I missing something?

Mind boggling. We came in at 62% passing to 38 run. And all empty sets with non running QB.

IDK, but let’s be honest, Bobo’s play calling was good enough to have us up 34-0 over #1 in the first half had we executed it well

Our run pass was pretty close to 50/50 but it sure felt like the run was there and we were throwing a LOT. I’m not a huge fan of murderball but damn…there’s something to be said for pounding the run to loosen a defense up near the end of the game.
Based on the game thread here and my text thread last night “Run the damn ball Bobo” is alive and well.

When do you criticize Bobo for not running enough and when do you criticize him for running too much?
Mind Boggling.

Yes

Some idiots in here have bitched about too many run plays and not enough passes. Since Beck can't hit our WRs as often as he hits the other teams DBs, I think the run plays last night were excellent.

You aren't running the ball because the game's over.

Sounds like they want Bobo to run it up the middle.

Yep, a balanced offense generally works well because done right it keeps the defense guessing.
But it's not just a matter of alternating runs and passes, rather making a smart call at the right time aka winning plays.
A great OC is creative and does the unexpected or simply exploits a mismatch.
It's easy to say that players have to execute whatever play is called but if a shrewd play is called it catches the defense out of position and makes execution much easier because you aren't relying on brute force blocking to defeat an equally talented opponent.

Mismatch? As in defense playing off zone with receivers having basically a free 5 yard gain?

Yep, you take what they give you.
