We get to play an undefeated team and if we didn't lose to Alabama this would be the semi final game we would have played anyway.

I agree.

And whoever wins still has a shot at the AP poll #1, making it a co-champ situation.

10 years ago, this would be a dream season.

I had a blast watching this team - who I expected to lose two games coming into to the season - really come out and prove me wrong. Kirby also dealt with some bad injuries and probably the worst DL/LB core of his tenure and still managed to go 12-1. Wild

Just look at the AllSec selections. Uga had decent representation but that’s all. We went 12-0 with a first year qb, decent RBs and our only real breakaway threats hobbled. Nobody on defense that was a game changer, and arguably the most important defensive player lost for the season.

Pretty good team and coaching effort to go 12-0 plus 3 points from more.

I go way back to watching UGA vs Aub in Columbus, lot of UGA football since those days. Nobody, but God could have created #34, those where special times. Only the last 3 years have been equal or better, 29-0 36-0, amazing. Just remember this, the players will eventually move on. but the current star of this program Kirby Smart can stay as long as he wants. Buckle up, going to be an exciting ride.

I’m watching this game and I hope the rest of the players will follow suit with Milton bc he says he’s playing.
I will be boycotting the CFP games hoping Michigan wins it all and then has this entire season vacated for cheating. Would be the icing on the cake for this abortion of a post season.

You know the refs are going to give Bama every call and no call.

This is a good coping mechanism. You have elevated to the bargaining stage of grief. :)
I'm still in the anger stage.
Here's why:
1. That critical 4th down Bama pass catch that wasn't a catch should have been reviewed.
2. Having said that, someone in Kirby's booth should have recommended that Kirby challenge the call. Kirby is a great coach but this game definitely wasn't his best coaching job. That play was so important that his immediate reaction should have been to challenge the call or at least call a time-out to give the officials time/an opportunity to review the call.
3. Kirby has repeatedly lost to Saban in SEC Championship Games and I almost wonder if he is unconsciously not putting forth his best coaching effort against Saban. Frankly, Bama has not been that good this season and we could have won the game with better coaching.
4. Our team did not seem well prepared for the game. We simply didn't seem as sharp and focused as required for a championship level game.
5. Bobo's play calling was lacking to say the least. There was little or no innovation on offense and the repeated failure on 3rd and short was uncharacteristic of a team that had been one of the best 3rd down teams in college football.
6. Bama was mugging our receivers the entire game and getting away with it.
7. The Bama OL was also holding constantly and getting away with it. I generally don't adhere to conspiracy theories but I see why other teams have complained about officiating when playing against Alabama.

Bottom line: Our team did not play well, the coaching seemed to be lacking and the officiating seemed to be biased in Bama's favor.
I could tell early on that our defense was not championship level compared to our previous NC teams, but I still believe our offense and defense are better than Bama's and we should have won that game.

All that being valid points, this old dawg has been having to deal with my anger because of Georgia's close losses for 59 years so this is the way I handle it. However, I still am looking forward to watching my dawgs play another undefeated team.

Likewise, and the matchup with FSU is an excellent non-playoff bowl game.
But I worry about a major letdown by our players like we had against Texas in the 2019 Sugar Bowl.
I'm pretty sure FSU will be up for the game big time to prove that they deserved a playoff spot after beating the top dawg in the SEC the last 2 years.
