I won't lie. I thought it was kind of cool. Until I learned that Jefferson ran it AND played in it (and - duh - won it).

He pretty much played everyone in it for suckers and you fell all over each other thanking him for the privilege. One of the more ridiculous things I've seen on these internets, but he did manage to pull it off, so ....

Was by far his biggest flaw. He ran it like the dude running the dart game at the fair. House has all the advantage. If it was a bad week for house, no eliminations. If house did well, off with their heads.

It was a fatal flaw. It was as if the dude running the dart game at the fair was also throwing darts and making up the rules as he went a long. And he could change the rules however he wanted, whenever he wanted, and it behooved all of the other players to "be his friend" so when he changed the rules, he would do it in their favor or at least so it wouldn't hurt them. And, of course, he wins in the end.

And the other dart players revered him for it. Kind of amazing to watch, actually. Heckuva scam to have the patsies love you even as you sucker them right out of the game.

This part always struck me as odd. Guys kissed his arse after he got done manipulating them.

I never played it, but was it suppose to be you pick games and who ever did the best won the week but if you sucked that week you were eliminated?

Pretty much, yes. Of course, jeff kept things interesting all along. But, as you can see, people got all bitchy about the ins and outs of a made-up internet game so here we are.

Just the usual scorned ingrates, and petty liars. And, of course, the guy who didn’t even participate, but feels compelled to try and tear down everything that isn‘t as thoroughly boring and unlikeable as he is.

Which are actually all signs of Victory…..

It’s beautiful. The HGMF wins.

The HGMF was just a beta-test for what's coming though.

tHGMF was fantastic for me resurrecting a board icon from the ashes after a supposed e-friend stabbed him in the back thus; ultimately leading to his own ostracization and a lonely demise. His suffering was a beautiful thing to behold in its thrashing moments.

I'm ready for whatever Jefferson comes up with. Alapaha's attempt to recreate perfection fell flat. The people onboard with that are largely just Jefferson haters who take the internets too damn seriously. HGMF! was and is the best pick 'em I've ever been a part of.

Onward ...

Interesting ... I did not know that was what I was attempting. Thank you for that insight. I find it intriguing that in my attempt at trying to "re-create" something, I created something ENTIRELY different. Some liked it ... some didn't ... that's how the ball rolls.

Fell flat? I think the PFL had a pretty successful 1st run. 24 Ranters participated, we played a complete 12 game regular season (even though we didn't get started until like week 5), had a 4 team playoff, a championship game, and 6 bowl games. Pretty damn good if you ask me. I originally thought it would never get off the ground ... but I've been known to build something from nothing ... actually, I've been pretty successful in doing so.

In the second installment of the PFL, we have almost doubled the number of participants, made a few changes to the format, and looking to have a pretty good run this year.

Maybe or maybe not ... you would have to ask them. Another question you may like to ask them ... is why the hate Jefferson. Seems like a pretty ridiculous presumption in my opinion.

I 100% agree with this statement.

There’s no doubt in my mind that you are clumsy enough to believe this, but let’s review the awkward facts here:

-uninvited, you once took it upon yourself to start keeping score of the HGMF (fine, whatever)
-but this quickly evolved into you thinking you had a say in how I should run things.
-when that was naturally rejected, you threw a temper tantrum that most 6 year olds would be ashamed of themselves over. Remember?
-so once you got eliminated from HGMF, in your desire to be a pick’em boss, you tried to leech a “new” pick’em onto the HGMF.
-You called it “PURGATORY“ something. As in, when participants of HGMF died they were suppose to to "purgatory" pick‘em, so alapaha can play a parasite pick em organizer. There was like a 5,000 word essay explaining it.
-and when you got called out as a plagiarist/leech, you simply changed everything around (except the purgatory name for some reason) to make it seem that it wasn’t the leech that was/is.

Not trying to stir anything up. I don’t care about your “purgatory” thing or what you do with it. Just providing facts. A small courtesy that I believe I am entitled to under the bizarre circumstances.
