the fact that a true freshman basketball player who hadn't played football since middle school was getting second team reps at tackle last season shouldn't make us feel great either.

Ok, I'll bite and say that of the 4 recruits you posted there, 2 of the 4 are now starters. The other 2 guys aren't with the team anymore, but this day and time, that's not just a problem that we are dealing with, EVERY team is dealing with transfers, whether the kid was a 2 star or 5 star! Anyways, If Greene can stay healthy, he's shown glimpses of being a dominant player and KS himself has praised Drew Bobo for his athleticism and speed for an OLman.

And in the quote, I assume you meen Jahzare Jackson. I don't share your worry over him. First off, he's 6'10" and 348 lbs and athletic enough to be a stellar basketball player. And lest we forget, KS has made a living of finding diamonds in the rough; Bennett, Ladd McConkey, Jordan Davis to name a few.

I believe it. Sammy that ran the one in Douglas in the 90s was a super nice guy and he was in the family, I think.

Not a tech fan. UGA alum. Like to zig when others zag. Didn't think it would be that controversial

You didn’t think it would controversial to say a team that hasn’t lost more than two regular seasons games in several years will lose 4 of 5 “toss ups” in the same breath as GT making the playoffs. All in your first post here? I’ll give you credit for at least providing your reasons.

Felt like the UGA loss comment was pertinent to the thread.

Maybe the Tech take was an unnecessary addition, but I wanted my take on the record early..didn't feel like a thread worthy take, so I tucked it in there.

I regret nothing

considering Vegas has them at 7.5 wins I would put your guess in the "not happening" realm and just adds to the speculation of your intentions here

I think the last 2 years were kind of the new norm. You saw Bama finally get beat by a Michigan program that was previously miles from being a top program. Saban is also gone. It just seems like we can't recruit the kind of 4/5 star depth on the lines like we used to. I think a big thing we need to improve on this year is the running game. I'm pretty sure we were in the bottom tier in rushing yards per game last year; like 14th in the SEC. The D line probably won the SEC championship for us but we have to get better on the O line. If we lose in the first round of the playoffs or heaven forbid don't make the playofffs there were be a lot of chatter about how Kirby has lost his edge.

I'm not one of the bamatards that got used to saban that thinks we should win it all every year. Wtih today's game I agree iwht you that ~2 losses annually heading into postseason seems to be on the high end of a successful/expected season.

My main concern was how we looked. That is super subjective and one of those "I can't definite it but know it when i see it" situaitons. I'm not even talking about the bama game etiher. Losing to ole miss is whatever, htey were a damn solid team. It's the way we lost to them. From 3 minutes into the game until the end we looked like a JV team. Utterly, hopelessly incompetent. You knew very early on in the second half that we simply had no chance of winning that game. It felt like one of the lesser richt years. Then to get completely embarrassed by a ND team that we absolutely should have wiped the floor with. It was reminiscent of the 2018 sugar bowl, we looked like a team sleepwalking through the motions tha tlargely couldn't do anything right against a team fired up out of their minds.

I don't necessarily care about the number of losses we have but I at the very least want to look competent while losing them and like our guys are playing their guts out in the process.

Honestly it will probably end my interest in CFB completely. I quit watching NFL FB 30 years ago and never looked back. The pinnacle for me was 21-23. My interest is already on life support thanks the the transfer portal and NIL. Strange really. I lived my entire life wishing for a playoff of some sort and as soon as it comes to fruition the sport is ruined by other modifications.

Well we looked significantly worse last year. That's not debatable. In the end the reasons can be debated from now until the cows come home, and it's immaterial. The only question before us at the moment is were the problems identified and addressed appropriately. If they were not, there's a big problem, and it starts at the top.
