Help - UGA Apparel Ideas

Ranters, I'm helping out a student group at UGA who are designing and printing t-shirts and other schwag to sell at UGA home games. I personally don't buy much of that stuff - I own one Georgia t-shirt that I wear on game day.
I'm curious what might sell these days? The group can use the UGA logos, but, the designs have to be approved by the athletic office.
Should they stick to the standard "Go Dawgs" w/ the "G", or try to inject some humor at the expense of the weekly opponent. Something like "Silly Chickens, Rings are for Dawgs!" - that's one of the ideas.
They also plan to print on beer coozies and such.
Any ideas are appreciated...
TIA

holy shite no. Don't do anything "cute" or "funny". If you do go the Tshirt route just have it something simple. Hell, you could even do a "gameday" type shirt, with just the G logo on the front chest and some generic design on the back with the opponent/date.
Personally I haven't worn a T-shirt to a game since I was 15 so I'm not really sure what would sell.

What about "Gurshall" shirts with 34 on the back and a G one the front?

The only bad thing about that is that keith and todd have both publicly come out and said they hate that name and want people to stop using it.

Hats with the traditional UGA "G" logo sell well I'm sure but there is likely at trademark for that logo. You might try something similar that would not violate the trademark.

Are you selling shirts to Gurley and Marshall? No. The fans love it and the market is flooded with generic UGA apparel. If you want to sell shirts, you have to find something no one is doing.

My sentiments as well. Though, I think we'll probably being appealing to the college crowd. We can use the "G" and other official logos. I suppose those are what people want.

2 Things with that:
1) Horrible idea. Don't put 34 or Gurshall on anything. It's just dumb.
2) They don't like it and have asked people to stop with the nickname. So it's pretty disrespectful to make money off of it.

JK. I totally agree.

I always like the shirts that highlight the town itself. There was one in the gameday shop on Clayton that had a artists rendition of all the bars downtown. Though not gameday stuff, still pretty cool.

I don't get it.

If you are going to sell them every week, you might want to stay away from anything with date or opponent on them. You put that on there and have some left over....well...they will be yours to keep.
I would stick with the generic "G", Georgia, Dawgs, that sort of thing. Just my two cents worth. But if you go with dates and opponents, be prepared to be stuck with inventory that won't sell after the game.

WRONG! They didn't say that. They just said they don't like to be called that off the football field in regular day to day stuff, but Keith said they don't mind it on the football field because it sticks. Keith said someone called him Gurshall at a restaurant one day and it annoyed, but other than that he's perfectly fine with it.

My daughter and son-in-law sold red t-shirts with "WARE 'EM OUT DAWGS" on the front and "GEORGIA" on the back a few years ago when Danny Ware had his good season. Listed them on EBay and sold about 400 in a season. Made about $2 a shirt after expenses.

You'll need a lot of Dawg Life stuff, that should sell really quickly. It's a play on the Salt Life stickers/shirts/merch one sees throughout much of northeastern Georgia.
Really, just put Dawg Life on a lot of hats, towels, tank tops, t shirts, croakies, etc....
