Defense lost the first half and the offense lost the second half. Seems like it’s been a while since we have put a whole game together, maybe since 2023?

In fairness, is there a single player on defense that would start for either the 2021 or 2022 defense?

Seems like this would also warrant some serious internal re-evaluations.

Completely happy to be wrong, it got it turned around after the UTenn and Bama games ... where our secondary was like playing against air...

not easy to do, good for him.

People needed to realize how young our defense is and what Schumann had to work with. He's done a great job developing the young guys and turning them in to veterans quickly.

Retrospect I agree but it was tough to watch in the moment. Aguilar hasn't looked the same and Simpson looked 180 degree different......

With a bunch of new guys outside the veterans from 21-22, I appreciate the crucible he fire formed those guys in to get them to where they are now.

This is a great thread for the nomination phase for UGA Dumbass Fan of the Year.

Let’s see how they deflect. My bet is personal attacks.

The weak give up at the fist sign of adversity and try to bring everyone else down to their level to justify their weakness. They are typically sad, small, people who hate themselves and their lives.

I mean no one with any football knowledge would look at the Tennessee game or 1st Bama game and say those were good efforts by our secondary or pass rush.

They have greatly improved but Agular and Simpson ate the secondary alive.....

I know, I guess us Disney’s were not considering the young talent that Smart and Shu were dealing with, but had a very proven track record of developing.

I don't disagree, but everyone is young anymore, glad it worked out. It wasn't just bad coverage but our tackling was awful. Which were odd to a Kirby Smart Team. It got fixed, that's all you can ask. We made Joey Agular look like Joey Burrow...Early.

Yes, rational people would be concerned. Irrational people would get emotional and call for firings.

Well, at some point if Kirby was watching as a fan, he would feel the same way. You understand that fan is short for fanatic.

I am happy for Schu and Bobo. I like consistency on a coaching staff. I don't think anyone else in college football coaches week to week like Kirby. When NCs are the goal he treats the season like summer camp. A developmental league, brilliant on two fronts, developed depth and early playing time is a strong carrot.

It's brilliant, Bear Bryant type shite.

Teams lose. Even good teams. When you play good teams, every play isn’t a win. It’s like part of our fan base doesn’t understand that. We have some absurd record like 8-0 x 3 vs our top 3 rivals. Can you imagine that? Would you have ever thought that was even a realistic expectation? We won 2 Natty’s recently and we are still winning in the NIL era. We are at the top of the mountain. Enjoy it while we are here.

We had our hearts ripped out of our chests so many times. Especially to this one particular thorn in heel team.

I remember in 2012 after the tipped pass and the clock ran out throwing my hat in anger and the ceiling fan caught it and threw it into this expensive deal thing that fell over and broke into a thousand pieces and i just sat there staring at the pieces for probably half an hour. And then i moped around and couldn’t eat for two days like I was in 7th grade and got dumped by my middle school crush

All of that scar tissue from Alabama makes times like these so much the sweeter. I never felt comfortable that we were actually going to win until the clock hit zero last night.

So much fun, dude. This is awesome

I have thought about this a lot, we are in the glory days, I think the problem isn't a false expectation of never losing again, it's how the team looks when they can't cover or get to the QB, when the screens are smothered or when the run is working and we have an incomplete pass 20 yards down field on 3rd and 2.

It's a great problem to have. Being at UGA during Goff and Donnan eras, we are shitting in high cotton for sure these days and we are one Charles Knapp away from being UF.
