We are one of 4 teams to wear black a Nike report states. I hope we do it against USC. That game starts at 6 I believe

Here comes the howling debates over why we should and shouldn't wear black with no less than 7 references to the 2008 blackout game.

Well if Alabama does it it'll be ok to do again lol

A few preemptive facts that so many forget when we have this endless discussions:
Under Richt we've worn black three times, all against top 20 teams. Two were complete blow out victories and one was an 11 point loss to a team that went 12-0 in the regular season.

Nothing but rumor. Keep this drivel off the board...

I actually read a post somewhere this morning that said these were for the soccer teams.

I would be very surprised to see Bama do that. They are all about their traditional uniforms

So this board is only a place for stone cold facts? It's a decent offseason discussion topic.
And I really don't like the alternate uniforms that Nike put together. But I've never really been a fan of shoulders being a different color than the body of the jersey.

The UGA uniforms are classic. I don't mind a change in stripes on the helmet, or down the pant legs, or even a change in font on the numerals. This is not a good change.
This is all about selling $80 shirts in the bookstore.

By the way,
Thanks for the board approval. I look forward to enjoying the season with everybody.

I like our black uniforms, but I do not like the renderings on your link. I realize the jersys won't be exactly like the renderings, but the article does say they will be based on the shirts. Wish we would simply go with the regular black-out uniforms.

I really don't care if they do or not... The Univesity has a real president, a real S&C program, top notch coordinators and the fricking fat-boy-ice-cream-truck went out to Colorado when CMR pushed the last baby buzzard out of the nest.
Lots of new top shelf staffers, an indoor practice field a coming and it seems Morehead really wants athletics, in general, to succeed.
CMR has all the tools he could wish for right now at his disposal.
Get it done.
I would only hope that CMR (and I think the call is his alone in the making) would use the black jersey as a tool and not a gimmick.
Call it now if you're going to do it.

I read an article years ago that said a study shows that teams with black jerseys have a higher winning percentage than any other color. Some of it was from confidence and aggression. But if I recall correctly the article concluded that it was mostly due to it being harder to see and track who had the ball with the dark jerseys blending it in.

I hope those shirts are not what the uniforms look like. Nike will have something nice especially with that epic fail of the Pro Combat uniforms. Black with a little red it's kind of hard to make that look ugly.

quote:Don't act like that game was ever close Only fun part of that game was Prince Miller's punt return to give a glimmer of hope.
and one was an 11 point loss to a team that went 12-0 in the regular season.

I'm perfeclty fine with us wearing black, I think it's the sharpest looking uni I've ever seen. But I dont' want to wear the abomination in the link in OP, it shoudl be the 07 version. I've also said many times we shoudl do 1 of 2 things with the black jerseys:
1) Make it a routine thing like LSU does with their purple jerseys so it's not a "gimmick". For instance, the last home game of the year.
2) Quit talking about it, and break them out randomly once every like 10 years like notre dame does with their green jerseys. Tell the fans on Thursday we're wearing black on Saturday and watch all hell break loose.

What game would yall like us to wear them at? I'm still going for the USC game at night. Don't want that Alabama game to be the one.
