What's even more strange about this thread is that of all the possible teams...FSU?

Keon Coleman blames Georgia for Florida State’s disastrous close to the 2023 season.
Coleman shared his thoughts on the matter with Robert Griffin III during an appearance on his podcast on this week.

Coleman said Georgia’s loss to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game is what caused the Noles to miss the College Football Playoff despite their 13-0 record. And as a result of missing the CFP, FSU ended up losing most of its starters to opt-outs before getting blasted by UGA in the Orange Bowl.

“If you would have won [against Alabama], you would have found out who was better between Florida State and Georgia,” Coleman said. “You would have played us in the ‘matter bowl.’ In a bowl that mattered. We’re not going to play y’all in a bowl that don’t matter. That’s a waste of time.

“If y’all would have won [against Alabama] and did what y’all were supposed to do, y’all would have would have had to see us. We would have been doing that [Tomahawk Chop] the whole time. All of that barking, we would have put a spear straight through you. Ain’t no barking, that’s dead. You would have found out, but the world may never know because Georgia decided to lose [to Alabama]. We should question their toughness to Bama. How do y’all keep choking?”

If I kept going, I'd say that there were so many Florida State bandwagon fans in Georgia 20 or 30 years ago that it was nauseating. At my school, kids were more likely to be Florida State fans than Georgia fans (and none were Georgia Tech fans). It was like the present-day bandwagon Alabama fans in Georgia multiplied by 4 or 5.

I'd also say that Florida State has become really annoying in recruiting in the last 2 years and trying to reclaim South Georgia like back in the day.

My comment was more so asking why anyone gives a shite about one player's comments.

The recruiting thing is very common. Lots of fans (and coaches) from surrounding programs are infatuated with beating out UGA for Georgia HS recruits. Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, FSU, Clemson. They've taken so many lumps on the field from UGA in recent years that they're desperate for anything to call a victory.

We recruit nationally now more than ever for the best available and only have so many slots.

I agree completely. But from their perspective signing a Georgia recruit is a big deal, in part because there are a lot of good ones but also in part because they need to feel like they beat UGA at something.

Often times we show interest, no matter how fleeting, they list UGA as a favorite though the player is not a priority to UGA, when they sign else where they act like we lost somehow.....

Last year they stole our top tight end prospect from Colquitt, and this year they're trying to steal the running back from Lee County. They also had KJ Bolden committed for an arse ton of money (not a south Georgia player, I know).

Prior to NIL Florida State had stopped fricked with our recruiting, and they need to start losing again so the NIL dries up and it goes back to the old way.

That's a good example of what Lewis and Herschel is talking about. A recruit that gets "stolen" isn't a loss if you get someone better. As for RB, UGA loaded up last year, so the depth chart is daunting for recruits. No matter where the RB goes, it's not a concern for UGA going forward.

Fsu is actually a pretty poor school. It's in a no where city and succeeded in the past because few other programs could recruit Florida. Now they all can.

1) We don't "need" anyone to do anything as it relates to our recruiting. We will recruit top 3 nationally yearly under Kirby so I'm not concerned with what others do

2) You realize that tech winning games like this would just help their recruitin right? They jsut spend over half a million on one of the top OL prospects in america.

You seem to somehow think fsu is the biggest road block facing our program when in reality they don't even register on our radar and haven't in decades. I truly don't even know where this is coming from

Bingo. We could take an entire class of the Top 25 recruits in GA and there would still be 10X as many kids here who end up going to FBS programs.

Tallahassee has always been a built-in recruiting advantage for Florida State. Way more "options" for young men.

I hope that FSU looks awful because they have a commit that should be a Dawg, C. J. Wiley. I never hated Tech. My father went there.

Not rooting for them but I think GT sneaks up on them. GT wins a close, one score game.
