Lived in Nashville for 10 years until 2021. It will always be my second home and yes, Vanderbilt is a good trip. You can park for free at the Parthenon Park. You walk across the street to the stadium. Its a small stadium thats easy to get into and sneak alcohol into and its usually 60% Georgia. Vandy is located in the West End section of Nashville, which is about two to three miles west of downtown. The bar area at the west end is a little more locals since its in the Music Row area of town. Places like Winners and Losers, Red Door, and others are staples of Nashville and are a good time, and you used to be a $5 uber ride to Bridgestone downtown, but I dont know the prices now.
