Gameday Parking Question

Since the game is a night game, do the parking decks remain open that late? We usually park in the courthouse garage. Are there better places to park?

Do you wanna tailgate? Are you coming up 441?
If tailgating isn’t really a big concern and you’re coming from south I can’t recommend the IM field/deck enough. You’re back on 441 heading south pretty dang quick

I will probably never park anywhere else, other than the Tate parking deck. Passes are expensive. But I have a bad knee, and that’s right next to stadium, and Bolton, and nephew can meet family there from his dorm in 3 minutes. Was nice to eat before game with him, and after game there.

From Savannah - most likely 78 but I’ll look again

You'll exit near Dublin from I16 and make your way to 441. 78 is how you'd come in from Augusta.

Having been a resident of Russell Hall on the meal plan, I can't imagine coming to Athens and thinking "I can't wait to eat lunch at Bolton Dining Hall!".

Campus decks sell out
Likely none available online
Some passes avail early at some decks but will go by mid day or so
They are open until whenever

To answer your original question, I don't use any of the decks and I don't tailgate, but I do pre-game downtown. I park on the residential side streets in the Big City Bread area. For free.
The walk to the stadium is far, but, I'm not walking to the stadium. I'm walking downtown. That's a short walk. Once there, I'm resting. I'm eating and drinking and people-watching and barking at children. Then I'm walking to the stadium. So it's not one long walk. It is two short walks. And after the game, do the same in reverse.

Actually live in Rincon and will be coming in from there. 78 is the fastest way according to the maps

well that's exactly what I'm doing saturday and have no shame at all in it. As a multi-year meal planner I fricking loved the dining halls and still miss them to this day. Would love to visit the other ones but they're mostly all closed on weekends. I went to the "new" (I guess it's not really new anymore) Bolton last year and had a blast. Since I'll have some extra time on my hands Saturday I'm definitely hitting it up again for lunch. Can't wait.

Never have done that during gameday - how do you go about that? Can anyone go in?

Yeah just walk in and pay no different than at a restaurant. It's also surprisingly cheap, considering inflation and what all you get for the cost. When I went last year I think it was like $13.
If you are familiar with the OG Bolton, this one is absolutely nothing like it at all. There are SO MANY OPTIONS. There's like 20 different little food stations that all have different themed stuff. If you go you better bring your appetite.

There's a nice gated community right across from Hotel Indigo that does valet parking.

In my days, we used to call it Rebolting.

It’s more of a convenience thing. The foods not bad though. It’s like a 50 yard walk from the parking deck.

8:30a-10pm. Breakfast til 11:30, lunch til 4, then dinner.
If you are't familiar wtih the layout there's 2 floors. The bottom floor has like a restaurant/dinner style place, I don't really know how else to describe it. Like "nicer" food . It also had a salad bar and deli sandwich place. Upstairs was about every other kind of fare you'd want; an italian place, a pizza place, a grill, a mexican place, a hibachi place. It's insane. Once you pay for entry it's all you can eat whatever you want.
That's how it was on my last visit last fall, it's possible all of that (including price) may have changed.
