FYI: Schedule and Results of 1st year Georgia coaches since 1938

Compare away. I formerly thought Kirby's 1st year was similar to Goff's, but now I think it may get worse. At least Goff's first year team smeared some opponents.

The only Georgia coach since 1938 who followed up a bad first year with a successful career was Wally Butts. And he suffered a terrible decade in the 1950s that would not be tolerated in today's atmosphere.

Mark Richt and Vince Dooley had reasonably good first years and had successful careers.

And this will be the 1st year since '99 that we've lost to UT,UF,AU and GT.

Interesting: so Smart is the first UGA HC since Griffith in 1961 who played USC their initial season and beat them. He broke a pretty unique streak there....

List is totally irrelevant. How can you account for strength of schedule?
